Jesus ... Me likey that slate 5 HULK PLATE ...
I could cut center for cob mounts or a chilLed module .
* grabs sketchpad ..
Slate 5 - Hulk extrusion - Base plate is 5mm Thick. Dont plan to run cob too hard.

@robincnn @Stephenj37826
Have you clever guys done any cob testing with these flat panels ?
Maybe some midpower application with cobs flush mounted ?
I am looking to maybe FAB up a hybrid light with a Flat slate .... Curious
we currently have no plans to mix COB and boards on same lamp.
Pin heatsink are 10mm thick and spread heat good. 5 mm in min to stay with COBs. 35-50 watts max per cob. not sure..
Good luck

What are you using for your tray ? That white one ? I need something like that and i really don't want to spend a hundred dollars on the Botanica one.
Washing machine drip pan, you can find them at most appliance/hardware stores for around $30-$40. Just so happens they are fairly close to 3'x3' and fill a tent nicely (shallow walls though). I built a frame out of 1"pvc that it sits on, the resevoir slides underneath and has holes drilled in the lid to catch the run off. In the flower tent they will sit directly on the tote as I am planning on flowering one plant per 3'x3' tent. This first run is a tester so i'll probably move 2 into each flower tent on this run.

@Stephenj37826 used HLG-600H in his maximizer last year. He wanted to use one with QB
Steve coerced HLG into a MONSTER kit -HLG-600H-54B with Slate 5 Quad Extrusion
We will test this beast in next round of sphere tests. looks like 1450+ PPF, 638Watts, 60C all Passive cooled.:shock:
Boards in parallel. from current batch it looks like single QB 288 was maxing at 145-160Watts when hooked to HLG-600H. So boards will be matched for this kit.

so the hlg-600-54 will run four 288s on the slate 5, which driver would be required for four 304s running at near max? or would that require 2 drivers? just because the one 4 board lamp you sell says it maxes at 515w or something. will you be getting those slate 5s in with your boards this week or are those a little ways off? would love to get one to flower this run i'm doing

Hey guys,

Finally got my light up and running and trying to figure out how close to run the light to the plants and at what power.... so I bought a lumen meter!

I've read heaps of different opinions on how many watts to give plants at various stages and distances, and it's all very confusing.

Could somebody please give me some idea about how many lumens I should be aiming for during...

1. (a) First few days after seed cracks.
1. (b) When I get there... clones??
2. New seedlings... 1-3 nodes of growth.
3. Vegetative stage.
4. Flower.

Anyone advice on numbers to aim for would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

emini

Not sure which driver you are pushing Type A or B , i keep at 18" .
Be aware that light ( if dimmed ) can come in closer , however these panels CAN bleach if power is higher and plants too close.

New seedlings ( for me ) work nicely around 20-22".
There really isnt any reason to adjust height at flower if canopy is resonably even.
I have grown fine at around 15-18" above til harvest.
