I wish I could join you in finding it funny. As far as freefall, the country most certainly is but I am not sure Trump is. It is disconcerting how many Americans' support for him has grown. I don't think we will really know until November how the country as a whole is reacting to it. His willingness to erode people's faith in our own institutions in order to maintain personal popularity may be working. We are far from the only country willing to elect a despot who's stock in trade is cruelty and despotism.
