15 year sparky eh? Ive got a 30-ish year old solid state guitar amp that I want to repair but wouldn't have a clue where to start. It's a 1200w beast, last of the good US-built solid states before the company was sold to koreans. Belter of a metal amp with the best clean channel ever and a top quality spring reverb in it.
Any tips? no way I can replace with original parts so dont know if its fixable or if I should just gut it and build or buy a valve amp to fit (the speakers and reverb are still in great knick)

I cant wait to see what this guy brings to the table. My cut of the male california cannon.
Of the three i popped the 2 girls seem nice but im not getting keeper vibes from them but this male is wicked.
Short and stocky in veg. Minimal stretch. Stacking hard with frost on the leaves very early in flower. And a straight ogkush smell.
The dad is about to start popping early flowers open so im movimg him to his own space this weekend

A good friend of mine is an electrical engineer and he sees lots of jobs done by Sparky's that are fire hazards.

she powers up but theres all kinds of popping and shit. I opened it up a couple years ago and the components are pretty much shot. Tonnes of solder joins need to be redone, most if not all of the caps and wires should be replaced too. Be sad but its probably time to let it go. I reckon I've spent a 2 or 3 full years of my life plugged into it
Might just dump a valve amp in it and live vicariously through that since a modern solid-state replacement would be shit in comparison to what was there

Engineers know fuck all when it comes to hands on work their job is just about numbers. I’ve seen heaps of plans that were either miscalculated or wouldn’t have met standards and I’ve met and worked with some unbelievably smart engineers if you do anything for a minute you learn to pick the good guys from the bad fairly quickly

Come on man, you and I both know no matter what trade your in some people don't do what they are meant to. I have liability insurance but I know people who don't. Its like people who have a house but don't insure it...People are stupid.

Thats just the way it is with all engineers. Smart blokes they just see the perfect example of how it should be done not the reality of the situation.
