Same for the solder. No disrespect, just relief that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
i remember watching the old movies as a kid and without the google i remember it was a big deal for him to 'enlist'..he was there more for the troops entertainment than to fight.

didn't he have a few military escapade movies ala dean martin military buddy type movies = military life is great?

Welcome Home Brother.......
And he is now continuing his service to the US, maybe more important now than his gallant service in Vietnam.
Go get that motherfucking traitor Trump, Lt. Mueller, and help to save America, again.

"In July 1968, he was sent to South Vietnam, where he served as a rifle platoon leader with Second Platoon, H Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On December 11, 1968, during an engagement in Operation Scotland II, he earned the Bronze Star with "V" distinction for combat valor for rescuing a wounded Marine under enemy fire during an ambush in which he saw half of his platoon become casualties. In April 1969, he received an enemy gunshot wound in the thigh, recovered, and returned to lead his platoon until June 1969. For his service in and during the Vietnam War, his military decorations and awards include: the Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V", Purple Heart Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals with Combat "V", Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Parachutist Badge

Because he was a marine?.....all Vietnam vets are my brothers
No, because the pictured soldier has a single chevron and rocker on his left sleeve, indicating the Army rank of private first class (PFC). Mueller, on the other hand, was a commissioned Marine officer who served as second lieutenant leading a rifle platoon. That's a picture of Ed Episcopo. You can't tell the difference between an Army PFC and a Marine LT?

That is Mueller. Officers in Vietnam often never wore their rank insignia and were never saluted in the field.

To do either marked them for sniper fire.
