How about we stop subsidizing electric cars including the Chevy volt?
We just did here along with many other green initiatives. I’m not sure that’s a good thing. It was being funded by the carbon tax. I was looking forward to more of an interest in geothermal (I design systems) due to the rebates being offered but they were canceled as well.

if we quit subsidizing big oil and gas hits $8.00 a gallon.....wont need to subsidize electric cars
Stop subsidizing both! Stop buying oil from the middle East. Stop buying steel from China. Stopping sending money to other countries for every piss ant "cause". America first!

Tesla roadster 8.9sec 1/4mile from a factory production car:shock:.....good luck ford
Really.. A 9 second car stock? Wow.

My only issue with it is.. Noone wanting to build a quarter mile car will throw that down. Unless they are rich.

There is no add ons for teslas. Rears/turbos/intakes or exhaust. So once someone buys the same car you have no advantage. Unless you rip seats out lol

Good ol Texas....
Texas is trying to block Tesla from even servicing its cars in direct sale battle with car dealers.
Tesla has long been having issues selling its cars in Texas due to their direct-sale law and car dealer lobbying effort, but now the automaker’s situation is becoming even more precarious in the state as a new bill that could block them from even servicing their cars is being introduced.

Texas is one of the biggest markets in the US that still completely bans Tesla’s direct sale model.

Well, they're going to have problems with that everywhere, which is the real reason he backtracked on closing all of his stores. Musk is a great entrepreneur, but a complete idiot when it comes to the automotive industry.

It is illegal for all automakers to sell their cars direct. They MUST use dealerships. That's the law.

Tesla has gotten around it in some cases because they're not purely an automotive manufacturer like GM, Ford, Dodge, Volvo, etc. But the automakers are up in arms about the fact that he is trying to sell over the internet without having to shell out all the money for dealerships, service centers and everything else that goes with it like they all do.

Musk has gotten away with playing by his own rules a great deal. He's now starting to have to pay the price for that. It's yet another reason the company's future under his leadership is taking a fucking beating over the last 3 to 4 months.

WHY?......I'll tell u why. Because Texas is a BIG OIL state.....they hate green energy....so much for free enterprise...at least in texas
It's not just that. Like I said, he's having problems everywhere. The big automakers are pretty sick and tired of him getting away with playing by a different set of rules than they have to play by.

Texas has just over 1,300 dealerships employing over 100,000 people. It is THEY who are blocking it. After all, if Tesla is allowed to sell cars direct over the internet, then guess what? That's exactly what the other automakers will do and there goes over 100,000 jobs to the people of Texas.

It's the same reason other states are giving him shit as well. It has nothing to do with oil. It has to do with literally hundreds of thousands of people being put out of work if it's allowed to happen.

Just the (oily) salesmen. You'll still have a gullible customer service base.
