Hello everyone, I'm in week 12 and buds are starting to pick a shape. I observed this from week 5 or 6 but now I'm worried that this may be a problem. Also it doesn't smell like weed, it has some fruity herb scent but not like weed. What should I do ?20200105_042608.jpg
 
I concur. It's a female. I wouldn't do or change anything, other than maybe upgrading the lights. Those plants look pretty stretched... what type of light are you using?

It'll put a lot of heat into that tent, so be prepared for that. Also, get a ballast that can dim to 75% and 50%. If things are too hot, you can dim down the lamp.

LEDs are very misleading the way they rate them is fucked up, they overrate the wattages and they are dim the yields are also not impressive compared to HPS Imo

I would get a 400 watt HPS MH dual system off of Amazon for like $110
 
250W should be great in a 2x2, that’s ~60W/sqft. Maybe you left your light too high and let them stretch? Maybe partly genetics?

I placed the light as close to the ceiling as I could. So yeah, next time should I place it lower in the seedling phase ?

Ya. I don’t have HPS experience but you should be moving your light up and down throughout the grow cycle for things like stretching. It could also be partly genetics. I have a strain that stretched about half those node lengths under optimal conditions.
 
i'm not exactly sure what you are concerned about... the smell thing is nothing at all- lots of weed nowadays doesn't smell like weed... if you are talking about the little spikey part of the plant, that's just part of it... not a nanner or anything- the more bulbous thing with crystals and a hair means female-

Rule of thumb with most lights. If it is hot on your hand its too hot for the plant. I have a laser thermometer and usually place the hps about 24-36" above little which hits the plant at around 25-28C. When plants are in seedling stage I use fluorescent and led so I can almost put the light right on top of the plants. Helps stretch. Good luck
