We all know that 1 bloke who pulls 40 pound out of a 4x4
There’s plenty of documents grows of guys getting 2grams/watt with hlg and hlg equivalent lights. There’s even guys claiming 3+. Your not going to see those numbers being lazy and not setting the grow up right but.

I believe everything has its place. The fact your comparing leds to a hid grow that’s not even getting 1gram/watt is laughable though. Hell I still run hids in winter when it makes sense to but I’d be struggling to get a gram/watt with them in my space where as the leds have yet to get less then that. Just because you don’t want to take the time and effort to get them running right doesn’t make them shit. Hell you can’t even get the hids running right
Fair enough mate.

Each to there own.

I was all for hids but they run really hot here. Spend a fortune on running the a/c.
Have seen some amazing results lately with LEDs.
I’ve always said that “LEDs are going to be the future but not yet”
To be honest, I think that time is now!!
a lot of people don’t realise that leds make there saving in not needing extra cooling like hids do. Not so much them drawing less power. Measure light in watts is deceptive anyway. It should be getting measured in joules/s/m^2. If you’ve got the same amount of light and are running the room to optimal conditions for each light type (higher temp for led, lower temp for hid) and the same nutrients you should get around the same yeild and quality

That’s exactly what I’ve read up on Reza.
I’ve got a 4 inline 600w hps setup in flower and 2 600w mh set up in veg. So initial outlay won’t be cheap haha. But they’ll pay for themselves just from the savings from my a/c bill alone I reckon. Let alone always having to replace bulbs!!
Any recommendations on a good led light the equivalent to a 600w hps or higher that isn’t $4000 a light? haha.
I scrog so don’t need a really deep penetration so 600w hps equivelant works great for my set up.

I'll do the next run starting April sometime
After outdoor
I’ll be done in about 7 weeks m8, so that’ll give me and hopefully you some idea on how they go in time for your run. I’ve got one over each 4x4ft. Just running them by themselves this go and see if anything else is needed for the next.
I’ve got a PAR meter and they’re giving good enough numbers over the 4x4.

The HLG 550 puts out 30w per sq. foot in a 4x4 tent.

I run 50w per sq. foot and last time pulled a bit over 1.2 grams per watt. But yeah there are guys who claim 2gpw. Its certainly doable if you run the right strain and know your shit.

Indeed.
I'm not worried bout fancy numbers
If I can I'll a 16-20oz of quality with a 550 after my first effort last yr with a 315cmh and qb260 I'll be ok with that (13.5oz)

Not a bad afternoon’s work.. 1 pound of three plants under a 600 W light.
Hey, what’s the going rate for a pound these days?.
I have been out of the mainstream for a long time and have been dealing with the same guy for over 10 years.
