Humple: Thanks very much for your reply- It was helpful. I will have to be diligent in keeping an eye on this new setup until it's dialed in. I would hate to roast a batch.Firstly, I'd love to see pics of your grow space. Big fan of micro-grows. But if you're not comfortable posting pics, that's no problem and I totally get it.
Sounds like you're asking if the spectrum will shift? My understanding is that there is a very slight spectrum shift when comparing full power to low power, but that shouldn't make a difference for your grow.
Photos are a little hard to get in the bilge. If you can image- A home Depot 150w security light fixture mounted through the garbage can's lid along with a large muffin fan for exhaust. Remote ballast box and and internal muffin fan for air movement. 12 x 18" hinged door cut in front of can for access. 24" x 9 x 18" plywood clone cabinet with 55w duo tube 6500k.
One thing that amazes me with this VERY crude enclosure which is hardly light proof. Light leaks ALL over it - and I have yet to have one single Hermi is twenty plus years.
The new Q.B. installation is similar to the security light - I found a 24" dia. stainless steel table top and cut a hole large enough to mount the Q.B. into. This puts the ballast outside the can. Also mounted a muffin fan to the side of the Q.B. Fits the can perfectly.
I run a strain that flowers in 45-48 days which make running continuously fairly easy. The clones are ready just about the time harvest rolls around. Usually pull about 2+ oz a run. Friends in the marina love me as I can't smoke it all myself.
Best Regards
