Super frosty.
The outdoor mum even though it was harvested way early is the strongest plant ive grown. So im real excited to see how the indoor ones go. Hypes real but yield really only suites a home grower.
That CBD Shark i grew was pretty fosty and that was only approx 7%THC and 7% CBD strain.

What's the ambient temps roughly night and day?

Do you have the light already? If not, I'd get a thouie for sure for 16 sq foot.

Then just have good air flow within the tent 24/7 then have your intake and extraction hooked up to the thermostat. A thousand watts will heat it up fast run it at night as well.
That's a bit difficult to answer. We're currently living in a shed whilst we build a house & our only source of heating is a wood heater that only gets run at night (except for weekends). At the moment, we're chucking a heap of wood into the heater & struggling to get above 14C inside.

In the depths of winter, the ambient temperature during the day won't get into double digits (we're on top of a mountain just outside Melb.) & often get snow.

No, I don't have the light yet. 'Just been doing some first-flush researching stuff today & a few questions came up in my mind....

"Thouie"? Forgive my ignorance on that one. Please enlighten me.

I considered 1000W, but it seemed a bit "overkill" for the area to be covered & not as efficient as 600W units. Given your comment that it'll heat the space quickly, I'll have a re-think on going with a more powerful installation. I'm assuming that with a unit that powerful that I'd preferably need an air-cooled hood for those times when it's not totally frigid?

BTW, thanks for everyone's advice/input. Keep it coming, please. 'Looks like I have more thinking & researching to do.

To say its one of the strongest plants youv grown an cut early no doubt the indoor should out do it no problems. Even a few of the fan leaves are loaded with trichomes.
Looks arent always everything like you blokes were sayin the other day tho

With cold temps like that 1000W for sure. Added heat. Whats summers like? If you get single ended HPS can run a cooltube on it in summer or you grow outdoors in summer?

Thanks, I'll look closer at 1000W options in that case.

Summers are pretty-much what you'd expect - high 30's-low 40's, but I wouldn't be growing indoors at that time of year anyway.

Come late winter/early spring, I'll be starting to pop seeds to go outside & taking clones. I'll be using the LED's for most of that.

Edit: What's a "Thouie"??

Thanks mate. It was so bloody obvious, I just missed it (I had the pronunciation in my head quite different as "Thoowee", not "Thowie"). Derr..:dunce:
Have a look at the Hellion Adjust a wing 1000W, can remote mount the ballast with these too.
Steer clear of the Gavita style for a tent.

I use them and cultiv8 digital ballasts for my 600s they pretty much your standard digital ballast. cultiv8s arent as good as lumatek. Lumatek runs a bit cooler than cultiv8 aswell
Not much difference in price either from what im seeing good for someone startin out id reckon.
What do ya thinks better for light spread the cool tube reflectors or vented hoods

Cultiv8s are cheaper coz the come with a globe. Have jeard people say the globes are trash ive had some hydro shops swap em out for other globes and ive used one once and theyre fine i reckon. But id say go lumatek the ballasts last longer one of my cultiv8 has faded from heat. As for light spread i wouldnt be able to tell you that depends what particular hoods youre looking at and i only really got experience with my ones (sea hawk cool tube) and i can say they have quite a wide spread
