Constitutional rights are being eroded right before our eyes with the police, National Guard and the military complicit and under the thumb of a demagogue president. Is this the end or just the beginning? Will we hunt down and arrest the people demonstrating that we can identify? Between the virus and the response to the demonstrations is our basic way of life going as well. I don't mean in the next 6 months but what about 6 years. So much lying from those in office will it become the norm in both parties not just the party currently in power that lying to the people goes unpunished with no repercussions. It just really feels creepy. I mean Trump has a real chance at being elected and you would be hard pressed to even know we were in an electoral cycle. If he does get another term how much more damage can he cause in the next four years. Be afraid... Be very afraid.

I am not sure exactly what you are trying to say man, but I will just say that the bill of rights makes no distinction as to which flavor du jour of tyrant issues edicts in its protections of the citizenry from tyranny.

If he gets re-elected he will do a lot of damage no question.

But outside of a handful of goons stirred up to hate fellow Americans and human beings on both sides of the protest lines trying to entice a riot or taking pleasure in beating fellow citizens. It seems like Americans everywhere have yanked Trump's leash.

All he has left is to try to snowball everyone online and through his hate mongers on TV and radio.

Not trying to stir the pot but i just feel leary of what the next fours years may hold for all of us.
How am i being naive FogDog. Throw out the insult bombs guys as you most often do BUT where do you guys think we are going in the next ten years. IDK but i really was hoping for some insight to what the protests will accomplish if the press just focuses looting and violence.

Clarify that please my friend as i'lll admit that i read the paper and listen to every source of news from CNN to Fox(in small portions) BBC World, Aljazeera and any other sources i can find except the Epoch Times and I'll swear on that.
What happens when the democrats are in power and bring in the military on a group of gun toting extremists. I believe our founding fathers felt arming the citizenry was the best defense against the tyranny from the white house.
I was just curious if the current situation will lead to a ban on groups of protesters and destroy the 1st ammendment.
If my ainxst is misplaced enlighten me please. I've always been willing to change my mind and thats why I TRY and elicit arguments that will help me adjust my negative perspective.

I'm not a shill or a troll but what does the future hold. No federal funds to states the don't follow the mindless protocol.
There are left wing and left of center gun groups but admittedly know nothing of their position.
Gimme a break guys (not likely) and share an opinion rather than an insult and just ease back on your freedom of speech support until you think it applies to everyone.
The American flag represents the right we have to burn it. We will get thru the virus and in the big scheme of things the world won't miss a beat on 500,000.00 dead from the virus versus the outrage over 5 000,000.00 Africans dying of hunger.
Not trolling, just a bit nervous and curious and why shouldnt i be.

I'm saying it doesn't matter what party or group is committing civil rights violations(both major parties have been having a hay day for too long). It seems every day our civil rights are being violated more and more. Trump just "mused" that he is considering using the military to occupy and quell demonstrations, which would be a clear violation of many of those provisions and his presidency is turning into even more of a disaster. If this were to occur, it would set a precedent for any type of party to assert control with the military. I will tell you this, that the vast majority of my friend who had combat MOSs would NOT obey unconstitutional orders. The ones you have to worry about are the POGs behind computer screens, maybe 20-30% of them would turn on their own citizens from my own research. What's interesting is that most of my veteran friends cannot bear to be held in the same esteem as police, they despise the term "law enforcement and military". They want nothing to do with cops.

most of what you said is pretty accurate however, the only way Trumpy* will win is if Putin stuffs the ballot boxes..it's mathematically impossible- he doesn't have enough supporters and any of the 'on the fence' between him and Hillary would gladly give their right arm for Hillary right about now..Obama base never showed for Hillary (wonder why)..low show on the left = less delegates and that's how he won even though Hillary had 3M more votes.

voting does work if enough show.

we have enough..if you can make the time to do the 'electric slide' for Mr. Floyd..then do him the HONOR and VOTE!

A couple of the things I heard them trying to change is

1. 5 minutes prior to any no-knock warrant being executed all police must turn on their body cams and leave them on, no more turning cams off would be a accountability check.

2. Having non-police citizen led first encounters instead of police who could be on standby or called in if things are escalated.

3. Being able to do background checks on police officers when there are encounters. So patterns of abuse are found quickly and then removed.

4. All officers being held in account for keeping their partners/other officers if they don't actively stop abuse by them.

I am sure there are several others, but those changes are huge if they get enacted because of peaceful protesting the murdering of citizens by the police.

Good for you, should maybe put on 'OANN' and 'the Hill' on that list too. Basically anything that doesn't have any accountability if they lie to you.

Why would the Democrats bring the military when they won't even do it when they are being bullied into doing that when gun toting nazis push their way into the Michigan capital building? Protesting won't be infringed outside of a few idiots in charge like Barr and Trump, who admittedly can do a lot of damage. But as bad as this is made out to look, this too shall pass.

Everyone has been pushed to be nervous and rightly so, but panicked and leaderless exaggerates everything, that way people are forced to look for hope in places that it should not be (like snake oil cures, and federal troops). Luckily we have a free press and they are covering everything here.
