Biden won

That sucks.

I just heard they are going to do a hand recount there. Im curious if that water pipe that burst or whatever is going to screw around something. It is amazing how something as random as that in a time of Trump becomes something you know will likely end up being used in his scams.

Luckily Pennsilvania pulled it out for Biden so that none of this matters and is all theater. 2022 after 2 years of Republican obstructing Biden getting his cabinet in place is where the rise up without Trump leading the charge is going to be really interesting with so many seats up.

recounts? now this is a fvcking lie and i'll tell you why:

Results. Initial election-night results had DeSantis winning by nearly 100,000 votes, and Gillum conceded.
Ron DeSantis - Wikipedia

so Gillum won by +.5% and there was an auto recount and it took a week. at the end of recount DeSantis was +1% which means a difference in count of 1.5% = 150k votes..-50k they had to make up +150k = 100k. Notice how Trump took the state right away? no hanging chads with Trump threatening to find florida a new governor, which he can't do but that's another post.

it really frightens me when i hear pennsylvania and all the others say there is only 40k, 50k or 100k difference which is too large and a hand count wouldn't expose that many votes in error. he likes to drag things into his column so he can get close then claim victory and people go with to shut him up..can you imagine being this guys family member?

there's not even a hint of a callous on either one of those silky smooth hands.

he gets his eyebrows waxed more than i do..i think he was a virgin and ivanka had a stripper pole in her room after she got those implants and nose job..mommy and daddy kushner we're aghast until they found out she'd be the perfect person for their boy because she holds the same life goals as the kushners.

as it happens Karlie Kloss who married Joshua Kushner is hated for some reason and not welcomed into the family.

wonder what the difference is?

additionally, Ivanka pretends to be Orthodox and they're far from it with runs to Burger King on the Sabbath and no covering her head with wig or scarf as every married Orthodox Jewish women does. the high collared dresses are weak- stylish but weak..as the most famous Orthodox Jew there is, bet you the community hates her guts.

needless to say Ivanka and Karlie are far from BFF's.

Ivanka could've had Tom Brady.

I remember seeing exit polls showing Biden voters were more concerned about racial inequalities than Covid.

Covid will be the focus for now but unless substantial progress is made with police reform and other racial issues, I fear the Biden administration will be seen as a failure by many who voted for him.

If getting through Covid isn’t a daunting enough task, making progress against centuries of racial inequities will be even more difficult. I hope the electorate has the patience required.
I don't think Democrats have high expectations right now. "Caretaker" government is how the more left leaning Democrats describe it. It's enough for now but 2022 is likely to be a tough election for Democrats.

Biden is going to be in the hot seat regardless of how much he gets done. As you say, he has a pretty full plate. With the Senate in the hands of Republicans and an angry crowd of 70 million people who believe the election was stolen from them, it's hard to see how much he can do beyond stopping the epidemic and getting the economy started up again.

On a side note, while driving around town doing errands yesterday, I toured some right wing radio stations. There is a wall of noise coming from the radical right propaganda programs, all of it talking about a stolen election. Very loud, very consistent messaging that repeats the claims of fraud without any objective facts or evidence. This country has many more people who support radical right authoritarian leadership than I believed before the votes were counted. Just goes to show how naïve I am.

It's going to be a difficult 6 or so years, with control of our government flipping back to those same radical authoritarian Republicans some time during that interval. You might want to keep that border closed and be wary of signing treaties with the US.

But hey, today, we got rid of Trump, hold the House and assuming we lose both seats in the Senate to Republicans, we still gained a seat.

This is a win and winning is always better than what Republicans are choking on right now.

I hope the AM band is reassigned to digital use and that AM goes digital, all those radio stations should have to reapply to the FCC and their records of integrity and public service will be reviewed, as will their usefulness to the public good and their ownership. Don't fuck with these clowns, many of them like authoritarianism remember? ;) Sue me.

Peace and good government will not be enough I'm afraid, they will need to be subtlety proactive. Georgia is very much in contention and if Donald runs wild on Mitch all bets are off. Nancy and Joe could help this little family feud along, Donald has just been betrayed by the American people, Mitch stabbing him in the back could cause Donald to strike out at the republicans who are jumping ship by the day. Everybody has Georgia on their minds and they don't need to move the needle much, some republicans won't bother voting if Donald is not on the ballot. It still could be 2 for 2 in Georgia and a win in the senate with Kamala breaking ties left and right as shit flies through the house.

Ya know why the Arab and Islamic world of urban and nomadic peoples across several cultures and governments went politicly and religiously nuts in the 60's? Cheap Japanese transistor radio's and propaganda from state radio stations on the long distance AM band... There is a reason the heartland and especially rural areas are filled with American Taliban.

Just fucking pathetic, a shit show until he is bum rushed out the door. If it wasn't for Georgia they would be running away quicker than they are. Except those that have covid like Corey, who was recently spending quality face time with Rudy

Yep Rudy croaking from corona would be the capstone on all this, no antibody treatment for Rudy, unless he arranges it himself! After Donald saw the four seasons photo op fiasco, I'm sure he wants Rudy dead, also Rudy is a witness against him... Rudy is fucked even if he doesn't get covid and die, I'm not even sure he realizes it yet.

I'm not accusing you of lying. I am saying you are confused and suffering from an error due to cognitive bias. Gillum lost the election on the day it was held. He did not win by .5% and DeSantis did not flip the election by 1.5%. The election was held on November 6 and the AP declared DeSantis the winner on November 7. At the time, he led Gillum by more than 30,000 votes. The recount changed one vote from DeSantis to Gillum. ONE VOTE for Gillum. Not hundreds of thousands for the Republican.

The reason I made a point to correct your errors is because it matters which candidate wins Democratic primaries. Gillum was the darling of the Bernie Sanders faction of the Democratic Party. The histrionic left managed to squeak Gillum past a boring and established Democrat only to lose Florida to Republicans during a mid term election that saw Democrats practically sweep the table everywhere else. Gillum was a crappy candidate for Florida. He most certainly would have won against any Republican were he running in a solidly blue state but his and Bernie's policies are losers in districts that tend toward moderate policies. Florida, would never have selected Gillum, not because he is black but because he is too far left for most of the people in that state. That said, 30,000 vote margin speaks volumes about how much the times are changing.

Maybe in ten years, Florida will seem more like California is today in their politics. For now, I'm kind of glad that you have left Florida because you simply don't understand where this country sits right now.

Ron DeSantis solidly ahead in Florida governor’s race, headed for recount
The Republican stayed close to Donald Trump, even amid troubling questions about his association with white nationalists.

By Dylan Scott@dylanlscottdylan.scott@vox.com Updated Nov 7, 2018, 2:13pm EST

Republican Ron DeSantis has likely defeated Democrat Andrew Gillum, the young Tallahassee mayor who was vying to become the first black governor in Florida history, to keep the Sunshine State’s governor’s mansion in GOP hands.

The Associated Press called the race for DeSantis on Election Night, and Gillum initially conceded. But the race is headed for a recount. DeSantis leads Gillum by more than 30,000 votes — a gap unlikely to be closed even in a recount — but the margin is within 0.5 points, which triggers a recount under Florida law.

Florida governor race, Senate race close

By TERRY SPENCERNovember 7, 2018

Republicans scored key victories in Florida as Ron DeSantis won the governor race.

Florida’s high-stakes recounts for governor and Senate, explained

Gillum only picked up one additional vote in the machine recount that ended Thursday, leaving him less than 34,000 votes behind DeSantis. But Gillum has refused to concede, leaving the future of election up to the courts, where the fate of tens of thousands of ballots lay in the balance.

Regarding recounts, of the many that have occurred in the past few decades, not a single recount changed election day results by more than a few hundred. Our voting system is accurate, reliable. Republicans have no chance of reversing Pennsylvania's election. Biden won.
