"aeration " I think they mean it holds o2 when wet i can't imagine they mean the same sense as perlite as in loosening, I think they are fine together as long as you lime the mix to prevent drops in PH

if they would just use that they would be fine, but the newbs would put half that half coco for aeration or something stupid like that.
like i said it was for new growers, I'm sure someone with experience it wouldn't be a problem
that's why i put it in the newb section

you do make a valid point that homemade recipes should've been researched more. and hopefully someone out there will Google "should I mix peat and coco 50/50" then thru the magic of search engine technology they will arrive at this nonsense and hopefully derive something from it.

Sorry for derailing your thread but sometimes a bee crawls up my butt and I get 'ornery.

Newbs gonna be newbs. I was. You were. We all were at some point. I'm just not sure "stop mixing peat and coco" is either a valid or a helpful statement. @PadawanWarrior saw it coming from the first post.

I know, I know. Making inappropriate sexual remarks isn't necessarily helpful either. But it sure can be fun. Besides, I think of this as a "safe place" where i can share stuff i can't share in the office. Peace.
