Grow Room Theory Requires Assistance

If shit ever goes bad, the crib is going to look bad in reports/court/pictures. I would hurt myself racing to throw that thing away. Cops/newspapers/landlords love to get worked up over that bullshit - even if it makes no sense.
Yep!

A guy got busted for an indoor grow last year and the TV stations had a field day broadcasting that this guy was running a "drug factory" two blocks from an Elementary School.

Police Propaganda!

im growin in an apartment too. my grow space is in a baby crib in my guest bedroom on the second floor. the crib is right in front of a pretty big window. i just ordered a 600w hps that i'm hangin right over the crib and my plan is that the open window will let cool air come in and cool the hps in replacement of a cooltube or something. then fresh air can come and go in the room, and the heat from the hps will connect with the cold from outside and hopefully reach an optimum temp. my fingers are crossed. heres a flick of the setup.

God DAMMIT man!!!! The fuckin' press would have a FIELD DAYwith THAT set up. What in the world was going thru your mind when you came up with THAT game plan? By the time the press got thru with you, even HITLER could hate on you.

dude i think u guys are trippin over nothing. you probly wouldnt even know it was a crib unless i told you it was. i bought it from goodwill. i dont see what the drama's about. it works real well, cheaper than a grow tent. it ispretty much perfect for my space and i can fit plenty into it

Dude, WE are being irrational??? You got 24 replies in a thread, 22 of which are appalled (to say the least) at this?? It's totally on you how you roll with this, but I'm tellin' ya, the cops walk into that and you'll be stupefied at how fast they start burying you with aggravating factors to the charges the are already heaping on your ass. They are just LOOKING for ways to add charges, and make it look like they were defending "The Children"
Do you not read? Can you not see how the press just takes innocent facts and spins them into something sinister to make the grower look less than human? You're just giving them more ammo with that.
I'm sure it works great, and it IS really creative, but wasn't there ANYTHING ELSE you could have chosen that would be less "socially objectionable" and work just as well?

Personally I am of the opinion that if he doesn't have kids it really wont apply. If a man gets busted i doubt the psychological factor of growing weed in a crib will mean much to a judge or jury so I dont think its that big of a deal vs actually getting caught. but I will watch some marijuana bust videos and see if anything correlates.

Going on the assumption that journalists will be impartial and report just the facts, I'd agree with you. But thats just not the world we now live in. They will sensationalize an otherwise ho hum event to boost sales, and keep the gov't off their collective backs. (Yes, the government rules the airways)

All they would have to do is show a shot of that crib full of dope. They don't have to say that there were no kids involved, that photo would say it all. To leave something like that up to the imagination of the masses would do more damage to dudes reputation than any openly spoken accusation.

im not implying what your saying is improbably as much as im simply saying who gives a fuck about what the masses think if you get busted. I dont really give 2 fucks what my neighbors think if I have to worry about doing a few years in the slammer.

I agree 100% Chia, I don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks either. They come for me, they sure as hell won't be gettin a virgin, thats for sure. NOBODY gives a fuck about John Q Public or what he thinks, until you are facing a jury full of folks like John, and 11 of his friends. Thats when their opinion counts in an up close and personal way.
But we are SO FUCKING close to decriminalization. The government (and the big pharmaceuticals, big oil, big business) DOES NOT WANT THAT to happen, and will take any shot at keeping the status quo. They will use EVERY example of what they deem irresponsibility or down right criminal action to thwart any legalization/decriminalization efforts.
Sure, it's just one insignificant incident. But many "insignificant incidents" add up to a trend, and THAT'S what the press will focus on.
This is a moot argument. It really isn't a big deal, all things considered, but how hard is it to see the big picture? We are all affected by the war on drugs, and all of our actions collectively can affect any legalization/decriminalization efforts either for good or bad.

i agree and also i think that its society that is preventing the war on drugs from ending (religious right, etc) and the value system that we are constantly being pumped with via news/propaganda.
