Hello.. I really need some help with my grow. I can't figure this out.

Just a brief history,, I am trying to grow some new bud. My set up is a TS 1000 Mars Hydro LED and I am using ocean forest soil. I have a 2.5 X 2.5 grow room with plenty of ventilation. My problem is that my plants keep turning yellow and dying. My first crop of four has all but had it and I decided to try again with 3 new seedlings that are just getting started. I have tried new soil, Ph water at 6.5, plain tap water, I just don't know what is happening. I included pics of the old plants and I see my 3 new seedlings are starting to turn yellow again. this is my 2nd grow and this has never happened to me. Is it the genetics??? I am trying to grow strawberry diesel and Jack Herer and neither are doing well. I watch my watering schedule and don't over water. The temp is constant at around 79 degrees with humidity at around 45%. The seedlings sprouted on 10/1 and 9/27 respectively. The way they turn yellow is just baffling. Someone please help..... Pics included below and any help appreciated. If you are a repeat contributor, thank you for your time...

I have not been feeding them. They have been getting yellow from the start. Even at a few weeks. At first it looked like nute burn then maybe a PH issue so I transplanted into ocean forest soil. I was watering with a ph of about 6.5 but the yellowing got worse and growth was very slow with leaves falling off. So I switched to filtered tap water but no luck. I water every couple of days and make sure not to over water but I can't figure it out. So I started some new seedlings in ocean forest soil and I noticed they were starting to yellow too... I feel like I'm missing something...

I think it looks dry but I water every couple of days. The soil, I noticed, doesn't absorb water very well. It often beads at the top and runs out the side of the cloth bags. I have to spray the top with water before I water so it can sink into the soil.

If the plant is large enough to water the entire pot top to bottom, they this --

Take a small increment of water...let's say you plan to water 2 quarts. Take a cup of it, and slowly and carefully water the outer edge just a little. Wait 5 minutes. Do it again. Wait 5 or 10 minutes, then carefully water say 2 cups inside that ring you made. Wait 10 minutes. Then water the entire pot with a few separate increments. It is not the soil, many will do this. Try this, trust me I've been there and it is a revelation to learn to water slowly and carefully.

Well I'm not a soil guy so can't comment much on that but they do look to be low on N, though you wouldn't think that in FFOF.

One thing I can say that under LED in veg I would up my temps to low to mid 80s and raise your pots off the tent floor.
Without looking at the light, make sure its not OTT for veg .
Raising temps should help perk them up at least.

How high is the light above the plants? Also single drop of dawn into the water will help it absorb better. Other thing is you could soak the bag by placing it into a dish of water, likely won't need to water as often if you do this. Good luck!

I learned this lesson in a thread I had the same problem with. It was LED light intensity. It looks just like a deficiency in the way it shows. Under HID you'd notice other signs that aren't there for LED, mainly burnt leafs. But yeah, solution is to raise your light as high as it will go and let the plants recover. If in 4 days they don't look 100% better rule this out, but I am 99% sure that is what it is.

Edit: as a point of reference I am using 200 watts as high as I can get it in a 6 foot tent for cuttings and small plants.

It's one of those things that can have people chasing their own tail and pulling their hair out.
Thank god for forums like this and the pooled knowledge of other growers ey.

You stated you haven't even fed them yet. IMO they're starving for food, and whatever is making your soil "hydrophobic" could be a problem too.

Ocean Forest been known to sell “hot” soil. And looks like the plants at first are dark green before they succumb.

IMHO I would scrap the FFOF and try promix or a quality coco coco/perlite media. Leave nothing to chance. Assume you know to get a quality hydroponic nutrient solution. If you want guaranteed success get GH FloraNova grow and bloom and nothing else, yet anyways. It’s a true one part albeit it’s common to go 50/50 (1/2 strength each) fir 2 weeks after flip. I know many that kill it w just that. You will have success. And when you want to try more stuff or boosters you can screw it up later. At least get a couple bumpers first.

There are beneficial additives to consider like kelp, fulvic, Si, and microbes. Just don’t buy the bottles of snake oil. I’ve done countless hours of research so HMU and o can direct you to best and cheapest of the aforementioned.

Ffof needs extra perlite imo, i usually add 4-8 quarts per 5 gallons of soil. Your plants also look underwatered and super hungry.
