yeah that's the big question.

over the years of following the posts of the "Pro" or "Con" Flushers, I've came over many instances where the growers who will feed until the last day respond to that question with:
"I'm not gonna starve my plants."

>> which is illogical, inconsequential and ignorant of the evidence at hand. they don't get it it works both ways.

Waiting for someone to slap down the actual scientific process by which the plants are removing any additional nutrients they've absorbed. As far as I know, there's no biological process where plants excrete/secrete nutrients through their roots. It's a one way street, not a two way street.

I think of it as the plant is at the end of its life, its already frosty, it already reeks, it's about to be chopped so feed just water until the final moment when I can chop and harvest it. I think "FLUSHING" has many different levels, methods and extremes.

Some people think a flush is just giving plain water for the last week or two until runoff, some people think its putting 10 times the container volume of water daily to where your draining out tons of the runoff..

This thread will never be constructive and the last 4 pages proves it, there are a couple people willing to discuss it and everyone else is either following the leader or going off their personal opinion or preference.

Not really.

those that care to find out call it flushing and leaching.

Leaching is very very different to flushing.

I do a form of leaching so to speak.

Not in the sense that I cut out nutrients completely but my last week to 10 days I reduce input feed to match what it was when they were seedlings.

Personally I would love to see someone run plain water in a fully recirculating hydro setup for 14 days.

They just end up looking like Canucks plants.
