1st CFL Grow....here we go

I transplanted two plants today to bigger pots. One of them seem stunted so I figured she needed a bigger pot. I also transplanted the LST plant because I'm convinced it's a female. The other five, I'm not sure yet.

Some plants are really growing, some aren't. The seedling finally started growing again. She finally surpassed the 2.5" mark. It's leaves are growing and it's getting new leaf sets, but she hung at 2.5" for what seemed like forever. Today, she was 2.75". I gave her a new pot today as well, giving her roots more room. When I transplanted I could see lots of root growth so I'm convinced I did the right thing.

One plant, plant 4, has hung at 10.5" for 4 days in a row. On the flip side, plant 5 has grown 2 inches in two days. They've all had the same watering/molasses schedule.

The LST plant, plant 2, has really taken off. The undergrowth is really filling in and it's starting to get that bushy look. The undergrowth is finally starting to get taller than the fan leaves. I'm staking those branches out so they're getting more light. It's quickly becoming my favorite plant.

When the soil dries I'm going to do another ph test and see if my suspicions of low ph is correct.

I'll post more pics as soon as I can find a remote control to snag some batteries out of. My camera eats batteries and they're presently dead as dead can be.

So here are the pictures. They're posted in sequence w/ the first picture being all of them, the second picture being plant 1, the third being plant 2, the fourth being plant 3, etc etc.

Plant 5, one of the one in the bigger pots, has some damage to the lower leaves. I suspect a ph problem, but it hasn't progressed any in weeks, so I think I solved the problem with the last flush.

Plant 1 is stretching a bit and I'm trying to correct a lean. Plant 3 and 4 have some bent leaves, but I'm attributing that to the fan. Minus the baby, they're all between 10.5" and 12 1/4" tall.

Plant 2, the LST plant, is turning into a bush. The secondary branches are starting to grow taller than the fan leaves. I'm using pieces of coat hangers as hooks in the dirt to pull the branches in different directions so they can get more light.

They're now a week into 12/12. Hopefully in a week or two I can go buy more lights.

I had to use a camera phone because my camera's dead.

I could definitely use about 3 or 4 more lights. They're on the to-buy list. Hopefully w/i two weeks I can do that.

As of right now, they each have at least their own light. I was kinda hoping they'd show sex by now so I could focus the lights on the females and take out the males, but they're taking their time.

Unfortunately, no can do. I have $13 to my name and I refuse to ask the non smoking bf for an allowance for growing stuff. :)

well how about going to a dollar store and getting reflective tape and hard cardboard or empty boxes and build yourself a dome reflector!!!!!!!! the whole thing would run you about 3 dollars. just get the tape or even white spray paint and get boxes from stores. go to heb, they will just give you boxes in the back. tell them you are moving.

I just went and sucked it up and bought two more 40-something watt CFLs, a y splitter and a clamp on light.

Just added 3200 more lumens. That'll do until I can get more.

Yeah, there's one that I can't lower anymore...the one on the top. It's part of a bendable lamp and it's bent all the way down. I just left it in there to make it a bit brighter. I try to keep the lights about 2-3" away from the plants. I'll move the other bendable one closer to the baby and lower the new clamp one an inch or two.

Wow! How old was that plant (or it is, two) when you went to flower? I'm feeling just a tad bit inadequate right now. :)
