One of my favs to listen to regularly is Andy McKee. Such an interesting dude - didn't fit in with HS so asked his mom if he could just not go and stay home to practice all day, and she agreed. Maybe not the best parenting, but it paid off in this situation. Andy is one of my fav composers, and performs his own music almost exclusively. He has innovated some really cool rhythmic techniques that I really dig. Prince loved Andy, too, and Prince contacted him with plans to make an acoustic album project together. Prince died before this could happen, too bad...

Have to shout out my guitar teacher, Jason Vieaux.

You play flamenco? I figerpick in a couple different styles, but not straight up flamenco. I also play a right handed guitar strung right handed, but left handedly. Elizabeth Cotton plays very similarly to me. She explains the challenge of an alternating bassline at around 1:30.

That's SO weird! I've never seen a guitar played that way, what a mind fuck. I play strictly classical guitar, and I've only been playing a few years. I'm a professional violinist, but I love the guitar and wanted the challenge of being a beginner again. Not sure how good I'll get, but it is really fun

No I haven't, but I just listened to a few songs and he's really good.

I think this falls into the "awesome" category. You can tell that RZA has played enough to understand the basics and add his own flavor, but not enough to lock down the mechanics. If he was 20 - 30 years older to where he would have been forced to play instruments instead of producing electronic music, he probably would have become a great player. He has always played keyboard, so he has a good understanding of timing, chord progression and melodies.
