sounds good to me, dump muck's ass so quick it doesn't have time to bounce before Kymeta is in place to do the job muck refuses to do.

This may have already been posted, but Beau covered it right after it came out. But then did a this follow up video.

I have a quibble with his reasoning (which is unusual; usually imo he nails it.)
It has to do with deciding that Biden’s statement about ending Nord Stream 2 necessarily means physical sabotage.
I consider it much more likely that he was referrring to diplomatic or economic ways of opposing its going into operation.

From another angle: Biden strikes me as a responsible tenant of the high office. No responsible chief executive will comment so directly on any potential covert op. So in my mind this militates strongly toward his thinking of a not-physical means to get the result.

I think Beau set up a false dichotomy without being quite aware of it. He didn’t discuss option 3 of 2. All imo.

yeah i heard a little about that this morning...then all of a sudden bloop nothing, and then i saw that alert.....french did as well in Belarus
Cold war 2, Russia's problem is they are less than half the population of the old USSR and today they make almost nothing, but bought from abroad with oil money to rapidly modernize. They no longer have even the most basic industries and those they did have depended on technology and parts from abroad. Now they are under sanctions and will have no money with their gas markets cut off and nearly everything will start breaking down with no replacement parts from the west, they will go into rapid economic decline.

Only a fool would stay there and after ample warning and assistance leaving, if required, fuck them if they stay and end up in the gulag and one of Vlad's bargaining chips.

A little less than a year since Moscow began its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost “strategically, operationally, and tactically,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley said from Brussels. Milley and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are in Brussels for the ninth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine as it fights against Russia.

But the russians will slog on, throwing themselves into the meatgrinder and pulling as many Ukrainians as they can in with them.

Since we don’t have reliable casualty counts, it’s tough to call. All else being equal, Russian command could take five casualties for every two by the Ukrainians, and still drive them to exhaustion. It’s a strategy that has worked for Russia in living memory.

russia has about 140 million people, but they're about 65% female. Not that women can't or won't fight, but so far, the russians seem to avoid drafting women.

that's roughly 50 million men.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1005416/population-russia-gender-age-group/
if you ad the columns from age 15 all the way through age 65, for men, you get 35.4 million.
That certainly seems like a sufficient number, but you have to take into account that some are the children of influential parents, some have handicaps that prevent them from serving, some will just refuse to go, some will be involved in critical industries, ...but even taking all of that into account, they should still have 25 million men of serving age.
The problems seems to be finding them adequate gear to fight with, taking the time to give them training of any kind, and the unsuitability of the command structure of the russian army.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1006655/ukraine-population-by-age-group/
it looks like Ukraine has about 20-25 million adults of fighting age, but as they will have roughly the same percentage that can't/won't fight, and a percentage of their women who can't fight, call that 16-18 million, but 16-18 million that have good gear, decent training, in a better command structure, with no shortage of weapons, no real shortage of ammunition, more modern, better maintained weapons, better medical care, and usually better intell.
They're also defending their homes, on territory many of them are familiar with.
I can't see the russians being able to sustain their assaults for long before they'll have to start rounding up men in the streets and forcing them to fight at spear point, as bullets will be too scarce to waste on deserters...It's all good for the russians to say they support putin on camera, but will they support him with a rusty rifle and a handful of ammunition, wearing worn out shit that smells like mold, and doesn't keep them warm, knowing that they're going to die whether they advance or retreat?

Technology has done a lot to upset the traditional military equation based on numbers. Sure the advantage falls to the Russians in potentially available bodies, but those bodies are not trained and are poorly equipped, if at all and they are running out of everything by all accounts. He can't train and he certainly can't equip and arm a half million men unless they are gonna use swords and shields, and even then they might have trouble making the swords! Then there is the matter of leadership, military culture and organization, not to mention corruption. There were Russian troops months ago who had to buy all their own equipment FFS and even the stolen and black market stuff is running out.

Having the warm bodies is one thing, arming and equipping them is another, let alone training. Machine guns and artillery can mow down thousands of men for hardy any losses these days and airpower is even more effective at killing large numbers. So on the modern battle field, numbers of men mean a lot less than they used too, they need tanks and APCs too, along with artillery and a host of other support, backed up by logistics.

Come spring and dry ground the Ukrainians are gonna hit those mobiks hard and go through them like shit through a goose with a blitzkrieg armored attack and surround whole divisions of them in classic pincer maneuvers, forcing mass surrenders of cut off Russians. They are untrained and can only fight from fixed positions or do simple advances with guns at their backs, they cannot do complex maneuvers needed to withdraw in good order.

i hope so, but russia is willing to kill millions to achieve their goal, probably enough to cause their birth rate to drop to an unsustainable level...they will literally murder themselves into extinction...
