How Ukraine Blew Up a Key Russian Bridge
In the Russian mindset Crimea is Russian, it's pop. is majority Russian, the Russians ceded it to Ukraine in the Soviet Union days as a mere formality(they still used it for the Black Sea fleet) and always had access. Without this strategically important asset Russia is basically landlocked and shut out of the Black Sea,the loss of Crimea under Putin's gov. is going to be construed as a threat to Russian sovereignty, and accordingly will probably trigger nuclear weapons use when looking at Russia's nuclear doctrine. This is one of the most dangerous, puzzling, and overlooked aspects of this war in that how can the Crimea issue be resolved without nukes,it's very worrying and is a terd in the punchbowl issue in this war in that how is it resolved without absolute disaster, your guess is as good as mine.

One wonders how far the voters of her district would go to cut their own throats out of fear and hate. The only purpose in electing a moron like that is to stick their thumb in Uncle Sam's eye and grind it in really good. What do they think she, Gatez and Jordan will accomplish in Washington? Brink back Trump? Give them responsible government?
I heard the term yesterday..ANGERTAINMENT.

that makes no sense...give them weapons and ammunition to weaken them? If china wants to weaken russia, why doesn't it either support Ukraine, or just shut the fuck up and do nothing? There is no reality in which china giving russia so much as a bandaid is "weakening"them.
They can take advantage of the situation fully without ever giving russia so much as a new sling shot rubber.
They become dependent on China and the longer the war goes on the weaker they become, they have no army and throwing men with small arms and no training will only get them slaughtered, this weakens Russia in a multitude of ways besides depopulating it between the dead and those who left. It will lead to political instability and better odds of dissolution in the future. However, it is not worth getting on the wrong side of sanctions with the allies, that can kill the Chinese economy and Biden and the allies are already making security moves by onshoring lots of critical industries and giving China a lot less future leverage. Ultimately the choice China has is between the civilized west and economic prosperity, or the Russian and Iranian barbarian losers. Autocracy is what binds them together, a transactional relationship only, if Putin goes down and Russia turns liberal democratic it isolates Xi. On the other hand, a liberal democratic Russia would lead to its dissolution and China picking up the pieces in the east and being dominate in central Asia. It could do this using soft power and avoid trouble with the allies, but we have learned from this war about being dependent on autocrats, since they will hold us hostage to gain an advantage, so onshoring industries will continue and increasing automation makes it more feasible.

the longer the war goes on, the more Ukrainians they kill with chinese weapons and ammunition, and the more brazen china will become about the amount and type of aid they will give russia, perhaps eventually turning the tide and allowing russia to win...
IN NO REALITY IS AID TO RUSSIA FROM CHINA A GOOD THING...

Don't know but I've had it up to my eyeballs w/this bitch's publicity stunts, what a sad commentary that this vile, revolting woman represents the face of America in ANY way, trying to find one positive quality in her is like searching a black hole, fellow Americans in her Georgia district please put her out to pasture next time she has to run. We may have different political views but she is tarnishing the country's views of your people and state, I know you don't want to be portrayed in the light that she exudes. Southern manners?, a brash, loudmouth, conspiracy slinging, lying, manner less pig , dressed like a prostitute while trying to steal the show at the State of the Union. Wake up Georgia, she doesn't do y'all proud, she's all about her and is staining your state and people.
She serves a purpose.
It’s probably to make George Santos look good.

Good for them perhaps, if they can avoid sanctions, just supporting their rail network with roller bearings for train wheels will help a lot and might not fall under sanctions. Machinery used to make bullets and guns might not either. They are not about to join Russia in the sanction's shithouse, it would kill their economy and cripple ours. We are moving away from dependency on China and turning to places like Vietnam and other Asian tiger economies, as well as onshoring industries like EV batteries, chips and pharmaceutical feed stocks. We learned from the war in Ukraine that they will use trade as a weapon and so will we, so best keep the peace.

The end result it will weaken Russia to China's benefit, which is why Uncle Sam and the EU might let them get away with somethings. From the way I'm reading things in Ukraine, they are inflicting massive casualties on the Russians at little cost to themselves. We just need to get the logistics train going to supply the shells to do it. When spring comes and the Ukrainians have the equipment, training and ability to maneuver, the situation will likely change dramatically in Ukraine, the Russians won't have a lot left, if they keep attacking at this intensity until spring.

The US says China is considering supplying weapons and ammunition to Russia for the Ukraine war - a claim strongly denied by Beijing.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Chinese firms were already providing "non-lethal support" to Russia and new information suggested Beijing could provide "lethal support".

How will that weaken russia to anyone's benefit?

By using up their army, considering the way they are fighting in Ukraine that won't take long, China makes them dependent on them and it gives China the upper hand in dealing with them. Wars seldom strengthen countries like Russia, with sanctions they slowly erode them away. Blinken busting them was a warning and we will have to see how things play out. However, many things are not sanctioned, but arms might be crossing a line, but we can't cut off trade with China because we are too interdependent, something we are working on resolving right now with chips and batteries for starters.

I'm just saying, it is in China's interest to weaken Russia while maintaining good relations with the west and allies, why back a loser at such a cost when you can take advantage of Vlad's folly in the coming years?

Because they're both our enemy, which makes them strange bedfellow allies...And china knows all they really have to do is start doing business with the russian states that butt up against their border, at a nice exchange rate, and they will essentially own them, anyway.

All totalitarian regimes are the enemies of liberal democracies and its time that was recognized more, however there are degrees of Hell and some of them are worse than others, some you can coexist with and some you can't. We couldn't co-exist with Hitler or Putin, but we put up with Stalin after the war and turned China capitalist in the 80s, but never effected political change there, the same old CPP run the place. They are becoming increasingly corrupt and lately belligerent, due in no small part to one-man imperial rule, including the paranoia and hubris that goes with it.

US secretary of state Antony Blinken has warned that China may soon provide Russia with 'lethal' assistance in the form of weapons and ammunition for its war in Ukraine. Beijing has lashed out at what it calls 'false claims' by the United States. Blinken's warning came after meeting with his counterpart Wang Yi at the Munich Security Conference, and again while on a visit to NATO member Turkey.

Biden makes surprise trip to Ukraine to meet with Zelensky

President Biden made a surprise stop in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday, meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and bringing word of new aid, as the nation prepares to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

“It’s good to be back in Kyiv,” said Biden, who sported a tie in Ukraine’s colors, blue and yellow. It is Biden’s eighth visit to the city.

Ambassador Bridget Brink greeted him on arrival, and Zelensky and Ukraine’s first lady, Olena Zelenska, welcomed Biden as he arrived at Mariinsky Palace just after 8:30 a.m. local time.

As the leaders headed into a bilateral meeting, Biden noted the reason behind the unannounced stop: “I thought it was critical that there not be any doubt, none whatsoever, about U.S. support for Ukraine in the war.”

He noted that while some in Congress have called for a deceleration of aid to Ukraine, there is broad support for the nation’s cause. “It’s not just about freedom in Ukraine … It’s about freedom of democracy at large.”

In joint remarks with Zelensky at the palace, Biden said more aid would be sent to Ukraine, with details coming later Monday. The package will also include military equipment.

“Russia’s aim was to wipe Ukraine off the map,” Biden said. “Putin’s war of conquest is failing.”

Zelensky thanked Biden for his leadership and Americans for their support from the start of the war.

He said discussion is ongoing on the U.S. sending long-range missiles to Ukraine. Noting the aid package Biden announced, Zelensky said the moment stood as a “clear signal that Russia’s attempts of relaunch will have no chance.”

“This conversation brings us closer to the victory,” Zelensky said. “Today our negotiations were very fruitful …They were very important and crucial.”

Biden told Zelenksy of Americans’ “unwavering support for the nation’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“So many have kept the Ukrainian people, particularly women and children, in their prayers,” Biden said. “They can’t fathom the idea of the shelling of everything from orphanages to schools to the like. It’s barbaric.”

After almost two hours at the palace, the leaders traveled a short distance to St. Michael’s Gold-Domed Cathedral in central Kyiv, where they took a walk around the complex, a symbol of Ukrainian resistance.

The cathedral’s sky-blue and golden buildings gave shelter in 2013 to pro-Western protesters under a president backed by Russia.
Sorry, late to the party.

"Biden is in Ukraine to receive the suitcases full of kickbacks from Zelensky for all the money the US sent Ukraine."
