War

I’d give those laurels to Hitler.
As for China, I associate them less with a dragon and more with a good recipe for duck.
I think a war w/China and the chances of actually losing are greater than the chances that Germany had to win WW2,just look at the Mfg. and industrial capability differences as well as the fact that Hitler couldn't dream of dominating the blue water domain, not to mention that USA proper is no longer unreachable (physically or electronically). I sure as hell hope I'm mistaken though and I sure as hell don't want to find out, hope it stays in the theoretical realm.

he came damn close with the U-boats. The key diff imo is I don’t think the Chinese have such ambitions. They want Taiwan and a million square miles of the South China Sea … and on a bad day eastern Siberia (Northern Resource Area).

But all in all they want security for the Middle Kingdom first and foremost. Disclaimer: I’m not a student of China.

The only dragon that concerns me is the fire-breathing,tail lashing one headed by Mr. Xi,the most capable, challenging potential enemy ever to confront the US and the rest of the allied democratic world.
Xi will die and power will probably be divided again, one man rule is a bad idea with complex organizations. The more power is divided the better in some circumstances, like who gets to rule and for how long. Governments need administrations too and power must be concentrated to get shit done, but it is best to spread those separate specialized concentrations out a bit. Power is spread the most at the ballot box with regular fair elections that count, and the calls made by people whose heads aren't filled with bullshit and malice. People need the truth as much as they need a vote, one is useless without the other.

You seem to think America would be at war alone with China, they would not, even Vietnam would end up as an ally. America's alliances with other nations who share values and even with some others who don't are as important to its security as its military. It will be as it is now, countries who live by the rule of law enforcing international law, liberal democracy versus despotic imperialism.

really? i think you give Xi more credit than he deserves....a lot more.
He's no fool, but the most capable, challenging opponent EVER to face the us and it's allies?.....
give me a little while to look into that claim, i'd be shocked, shocked i tell ya...if i can't find at least a few much more threatening threats, on the personal level. He DOES control china, which makes him nothing to sneeze at, but he personally? i don't think so...
honestly, if he didn't control the armed services he does, i'd rank Musk a bigger threat to America than Xi.

They need better purpose-built gas powered long range drones that pack 50 to 100kg HE punches. They need to spread out and tie down Russian air defenses and get units out of Ukraine to defend the homeland. I still think attacking and destroying their rail bridges just inside Russia will have the biggest effect on their military's ability to project power and support the war in Ukraine or Belarus, perhaps when they are ready or have the capability to do so.

It does back up my contention that he is an asshole, as for boiling people in oil, I'm not prosecuting him for it, but saying it has been reported about him. He is not a nice man.
you still incur the responsibility to back it or retract it. Don’t move the goalposts like this.
