Things getting silly with supermarkets trying to boost profits. After the abuse of inflation we now have crimpflation. Usually means smaller portions, less pieces per package etc. Queensday Kingsday yesterday, which calls for an ‘orange ball‘, which is sort of a large cream puff / profiterole covered in some orange sugary chocolate stuff and filled with whipcream and marzepin mini dutch flag. Used to be a treat.

Not so big this year, no flag, and 2 out of the 4 barely had whipcream in them, good thing I already made that for the coffee.

Do you have a meat slicer or do you do it free hand?
Seems like it might be difficult to maintain slice thickness without one.
The one I have is the one from my wife's grandfather. I used it once....it's kinda like this one.

Better as a ornament.

I'd love to get a real slicer again. We've had one, I know what a real deli slicer is like. Super accurate.....I miss it.
