TRUMP CONVICTED

So tRump has been given until Sunday midnight to change his mind about not testifying. A favour never given before by any judge to anyone CNN says tonight. Wants to be sure his orangeness can't cry that he wasn't given a chance to tell his story.

So when the conviction comes down does that mean the giant Cheetos puff is a convicted rapist or is this just defamation?

Surely a lot of Republicans that aren't die-hard MAGArats will not vote for the orange speed bump in the primaries at least. A lot of female repubs at least will turn away and maybe they'll force their husbands to do the same.

I wonder who Biden will face in '24 'cause I'd bet money it won't be that lying sack of shit.

:peace:
oh, i'm pretty sure it will be, the republicunts are still behind him, and Garland won't let anything happen - by plan, on purpose - that soon.
So I'm pretty much positive that, barring a stroke or heart attack, he will be the republican nominee...Which is actually fine. He can't win a general election to save his life, so everything they pour into his campaign will be wasted dollars, that they could otherwise be using to cement their hold on stolen state legislatures.

This CURRENT election season will be the longest one ever. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm already exhausted by it.
We need to adopt the english system ASAP and shorten the election season to a few weeks. It would be more exciting that way, and efficient.
but that wouldn't give the news time to report all of the crimes that republicans commit during elections....

Ain't that what they said in '16? Remember his base of 37.5M voting AmeriKKKans.
It's so strange how Fox built news based on public demand. Kinda like how the auto industry
makes cars. Early boomers got station wagons, then vans and SUV's. Which came first the news
or the gossip?

I think his thrashing over his loss in ‘20 repelled some of his voters. He hasn’t picked up new ones.

repelled some of his voters.
Yeah, and FOx's demise ain't helped either. I'm freakin' 74 years old, Fox news age.
Sometimes I can't figure out how half my generation turned that way. But yanno, when I was
8 years old and all thru school, i had always noticed this bullyish behavior, this mob mentality
kinda thing, that I just never thought was fair. It's never changed. We got septuagenarians all
still acting like they were when they were 8, and in third grade. I had thought in the 60s that
America was gonna be the greatest nation on earth, fair, equitable, decent, able to criticize
itself, and correct its steering, educationally sound, but we've gone backwards since the war
protests and civil rights movement. How can any reasonable people do that to themselves?

You got twelve years on me. I was a space program baby. I remember being four, camped in front of the TV for a Gemini launch.

I grew up at a time when the space program and the X-planes provided a sense of progress with real momentum behind it. We were headed for the stars! It’s not like that any more.

I grew up Republican, and in retrospect even then conservative America had a core attitude that we were a decadent nation caught on the horns of creeping atheism and socialism. I parted with the Republicans long after but because of where the party headed under Reagan, especially their screwy economics.

What we see now is that gremlin that someone fed after midnight. The benign camouflage is gone, and it’s leopards eating people’s faces off.

True, but even the news talks about how all those things have just endeared him to his base.
If that isn't sick, i dunno what is. Remember in his first campaign, how he said he could go
out and shoot somebody on 5th avenue and get away with it. Remember when he tried to
relate the story of the toad and the scorpion, and totally fucked it up, yet how revealing it
was of himself? I worked for a guy who always said, "If i lie, or steal from you, it's your fault
for trusting me." Same as this orange demon, same damn thing.

Here in Canada they can't call an election until something like 40 days before we vote. A lot less money is wasted on promotion like the 100s of millions wasted in the states not to mention they are almost constantly electioneering down there what with midterms which is something we don't do here. We also don't allow corporations to feed millions into the mix to buy politicians that promote said corporations. Not to say that corps here don't have a lot of sway with our politicians but it's not like in the states wince they ruled that corporations are people.

I get exhausted by it all down there too. At least the tRump saga is entertaining. :)

A mole at Mar-a-Lago: person who works for Trump becomes confidential cooperator for prosecutors

31,428 views May 5, 2023 #TeamJustice
In a revelation that spells real trouble for Donald Trump, the New York Times reported, "Federal prosecutors investigating former President Donald J. Trump's handling of classified documents have obtained the confidential cooperation of a person who has worked for him at Mar-a-Lago."

This video discusses the value of such a confidential cooperating witness. This reporting also raises the possibility of covert recordings having been made. Covert recordings, whether via having a cooperating witness wear a wire or obtaining a court order authorizing wire taps on phones, can be some of the most devastating evidence available at a criminal trial. Indeed, when wiretap evidence catches a defendant discussion criminal activity on covertly recorded conversations, it's what we call a "just-press-play" trial.

At least eight fake Georgia electors get immunity deals in Trump probe: report
At least eight of the 16 fake Georgia electors who planned to declare former President Trump the winner of the state in 2020 despite his loss have received immunity deals in the investigation into efforts to overturn the results of the state’s election.

The Washington Post reported on Friday that prosecutors working for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told the eight people they will not face any charges related to her probe if they cooperate and testify about the efforts from Trump and his allies to overturn President Biden’s victory in the state.

A brief filed in Fulton County Superior Court on Friday by the eight electors’ defense attorney Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow, which the Post obtained, says the eight people did not promise they would provide incriminating evidence in return for immunity, and they have maintained their innocence.

An individual familiar with the investigation told the Post the eight electors “continue to say they have done nothing wrong, and they are not aware of anyone else doing anything wrong, much less criminal.”

Willis said last month she planned to announce any indictments stemming from her investigation between July 11 and Sept. 1, adding that she expected the announcement to stir up “significant public reaction.”

The 16 fake electors who planned to declare Trump the winner in Georgia and former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani were informed they were targets of the investigation.

In the filing, Debrow pushes back against a request from Willis that she be disqualified from further participating in the case based on an accusation that she did not tell her clients about an offer of immunity and an alleged conflict of interest.
Willis argued that some of the electors incriminated other electors Debrow represents, creating a conflict.

Debrow denied the accusations in the filing, noting a letter she sent to her clients in August in which she discussed possible immunity offers. She argued that because her eight clients have immunity, they could not incriminate each other.

She also said her review of audio recordings and transcripts from her clients’ interviews with prosecutors revealed no evidence of anyone being implicated.

A spokesperson for Willis declined to comment to the Post.

The Post reported Willis said in a filing last month that she believed some — but not all — electors broke the law. Those involved in planning and managing the meeting of fake electors appear to still be targets, according to the outlet.

The mere signers are getting a pass, they are going after the big fish for conspiracy indictments, serious time involved. They can also charge Trump with Georgia election crime over the phone call, but it only carries a fraction of the time the conspiracy crimes would carry, and with rats and receipts they are much easier to prove too.

I'll say one thing for MSNBC, they sure do get a lot of NYT, WP and other print reporters who break many of the stories on their shows to flesh out the articles on TV. You generally get the news from those who break it on MSNBC and they do hold themselves to the highest journalistic standards as far as the people in the industry are concerned. Many of them win awards at MSNBC, and at foxnews others win judgements against them for bullshitting and hundreds of millions in damages!

why is she announcing what she's going to do to who?...just let them all wait till the axe drops. How, exactly is one fake elector guilty of a crime but the next one isn't? It sure as shit seems like they all knew exactly what they were doing, and that makes them fucking criminals...

It looks like she might be going for conspiracy among the big fish and those fish include Trump, Meadows, Rudy, a bunch of others and maybe LINDSEY GRAHAM! Getting that fucker on conspiracy would be worth letting the little fish fess up and go! They have to plead guilty, confess their crimes and any other crimes they have knowledge of Conspiracy or racketeering carries a life sentence for most of those involved and with 8 rats scared shitless plus receipts, it can be proved. In the federal J6 conspiracy case Jack is working up, all those indicted are just as guilty as Trump, even if they didn't know all of the plan, this tends to scare the living shit out of those lower down the food chain who are not direct targets.

She has her reasons, and it could be to scare up more rats that put someone important in jeopardy. They might plead to forgery or something else, but they definitely have something important to say to get a deal. 8 Rats are a lot for a conspiracy case and with receipts they will nail down almost any conspiracy. There were 16 fake electors and half of them took the deal, then there were other state officials who facilitated it along with others plus the WH crowd and at least Lindsey Graham and perhaps other republican politicians. To avoid prison and losing his senate seat Lindsey would sell his soul, but Trump already owns it along with his spine. She could give his ass to Jack for a deal, if he would cough up other J6 congressional conspirators. All you have to do is get the goods on any one of these slime balls that could put them away for a stretch and they would sell out anybody they could for a deal and not even blink.

how do you know that? the republican party has been plotting and scheming at least since the late 1940s, and they haven't had mass incidents of them turning traitor or selling each other out.
They're powerful people, in positions of authority, whether they belong there or not, and they're all at least loosely organized by the same central authority...I think it may prove MUCH harder to get them to sell out than you seem to think it will be, although I'm sure there will be at least a few.
I'm expecting much more damning evidence to come from the non aligned drones that all entitled wealthy assholes seem to keep around to reinforce their false sense of superiority, maids, aids, gophers and lackeys, drivers....They treat these people like they aren't there, and like they can't understand what is said around them. The entitled rich seem to assume the people they use and shit on have some kind of loyalty to them...

Nobody has exposed them to legal jeopardy like Trump did and continues to, some in Georgia are looking at a long stretch and the same applies to J6, those around Trump will either turn on him for a deal if they can get one or they will go down with him on conspiracy charges. Nobody had the leverage that Jack has or soon will have. These people are traitors, and it does not stop with their country and voters, they will betray anybody and put themselves first every time, it's why they are republicans. Many republicans are dirty too and those who rat will need to rat them out too for any crimes they have knowledge of, or no deal.

Convicting the foot soldiers of seditious conspiracy is very important to charging those higher up in the food chain with the same conspiracy and the higher up they go the longer the sentences they face. Already Trump is isolated and has nobody he can trust, not even his lawyer, or the butler who delivers his diet coke. He doesn't even know if his phone is bugged or his golf cart and he will keep his new SS detail out of earshot too. It might be kinda funny if some FBI agents temporarily transferred to the SS, I wouldn't put anything legal past Jack, including having Trump and his cronies wired for sound like a mob boss, since getting a warrant would not be an issue.
