China restricting drone exports amid tensions with US
China announced Monday that it will limit the export of civilian long-range drones, citing the war in Ukraine and rising tensions with the U.S.
The move comes as reports allege that Chinese-manufactured drones are being used by both the Russian and Ukrainian militaries for reconnaissance and attacks in the war effort. China, while it has close ties with Moscow, is nominally neutral in the conflict.

“The risk of some high specification and high-performance civilian unmanned aerial vehicles being converted to military use is constantly increasing,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.

The restrictions will apply to drones that can fly beyond sight distance, for longer than 30 minutes, can throw objects or way more than about 15 pounds.

China’s largest drone manufacturer, DJI, suspended its operations in Russia and Ukraine last year to prevent its devices from being used on the battlefield.

China has “always opposed the use of civilian drones for military purposes,” the commerce ministry said. “The moderate expansion of drone control by China this time is an important measure to demonstrate the responsibility of a responsible major country.”

The country has attracted criticism from U.S. officials who claim China is materially assisting the Russian war effort despite saying otherwise. A U.S. intelligence report claimed that Chinese manufacturers were providing military parts and support equipment to Russia.
President Biden has repeatedly warned China to stay out of the conflict.

China called its economic relationship with Russia one of “normal economic and trade cooperation.” The country has diplomatically supported Russia, including backing Russia in the United Nations and supporting its justifications for the invasion.
Production of motors, FCs and other components will shift to places like Vietnam, it is not hard to do or takes time very much time. In the meantime, they won't be restricting sales to Canada, America or Ukraine's 50 other allies and supporters. Expect the number of handheld jamming guns given to the Ukrainians to go up and they will be harvesting dead Russian drones. The Russians have the usual problems of theft, corruption and troops unfamiliar with the technology, this is particularly true in FPV drones and UAV planes where more knowledge and skill are required.

Funny how Jewish lightning does strike twice.
I wonder what happened to the bunch at the IRA in St Petersburg since Progie revolted, it was his operation. If they are gone and with these strikes, we should see a less Russian bullshit online for a spell, they won't want to go to work in that place!

There was a stop just after the mutiny and reports say it picked up again but not quite to normal levels. There would be no shortage of people for the work as they all want to practice their English so once the world settles down again they can get a real job with Western firms.

The Ukrainians have been killing a BTG of Russian troops a day (about 500) for a long time now, note the high number of artillery pieces and supply trucks being hit. They are wiping out their artillery with counter battery radars and drones while starving their front lines of food ammo and fuel, further depressing morale. The Ukrainians are methodically working their way through the Russian defenses using their advantages in technology, artillery and tactics to eventually breakthrough the outer crust of minefields and trenches. Once they get so far through the prepared defenses, they can breakthrough the rest of the way, move into their rear areas and exploit the situation.

Moldova is about to get a 10X upgrade to its military and the Russians in Transnistria will be in a vice, between the mountains with Moldavians manning the passes and the Ukrainians on their border, the Russians have 1 BTG in Transnistria and it belongs to Moldova. They face the same situation as Ukraine and others with Russians trying to take bites off their territory and take them over and the Russians in the south were headed for Moldova to link up until the Ukrainians stopped them.

I would like to see some confirmation on the ship being hit. On another note,

Back in my rocket scientist phase of life I had to source new parts for a decoy missile that sends out a radar signal masquerading as a different airframe. I think Ukraine should get these by the bucketful. At least the $30k ones.

Ukraine's plan to trap Putin in Crimea | Michael Clarke

280,930 views Premiered 19 hours ago
Could this be the strategy that ends Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine?

Michael Clarke outlines three 'paths to victory' for Ukraine's counteroffensive. Route one would end in the 'bombardment of Crimea,' if Ukraine is able to break through traps laid by Surovokin.
