They are probably harder to maintain, there are a bunch of them kicking around and could prove useful for a couple of years or more before being retired or turned into drones and flown into rail bridges.

I think Biden in particular is holding back to bleed the Russians white, he's not afraid just thinks this is the best solution. The US army has been facing the threat of soviet aggression in Europe for decades and I figure they have figured out the Russian dependency on the rails long ago and have multiple means to destroy Russian rail bridges far behind Russian lines. Ukraine does not have the means to do this and means could be clandestinely supplied to do it too, they could arrange for them to get the parts for a DIY solution. The war will be over when Biden wants it over or the Russians collapse on their own, but they will be destroyed before it is over and are almost there now. Putin could have sealed his own death warrant by knocking off the Wagner leadership, if must have pissed some people off.

Your suppositions are interesting, but I am unaware of corroborating information. I’ll wait and watch.

The republicans, or enough of them, want to pull the plug on allies like this when Russia is on the ropes, they would surrender not just Ukraine to Russia, but America too. All the nominees said they would support Trump, even though he didn't promise to do the same for them and didn't show up for the debate because he will be in court today over J6 in Georgia and will be disqualified from the ballot. Trump already publicly said he wants to get rid of the US constitution and is therefore unqualified to protect and defend it and yet the cowards on the stage said they would still support him, even when he is convicted and in prison I assume. The pivot they will have to make before the general election should rip their heads off from the Gee forces.

Much of war is about human nature and that has not changed since his time, though progress in war, technology and tactics has come a long way, he and Clausewitz are still respected and foundational like Darwin is in biology.
