War

How many air defense systems do they have? They must be getting stretched thin with attacks on Moscow, Crimea and airbases in Russia. This is why there is a long war, to make sure the vast quantities of shit like this are destroyed and used up. Disarming Russia the old-fashioned way is the answer and once disarmed, under sanctions and with a broken economy and morale, it will be a long time before they can threaten anybody or impose their will on weaker neighbors. This war might not end in Ukraine either, but will continue in Georgia and Belarus I figure, both to liberate them, reclaim territory and to drain away whatever remains of the Russian military and its irreplaceable equipment. A liberated Belarus will add to Ukrainian and European security and make Kaliningrad impossible for Russia to hold.

I don't like a long war or the sacrifice of the Ukrainians, but I'm not calling the shots, just trying to figure out why it's ending up like it is. If what I think is correct, then the plan is to break Russia on the rock of Ukraine and remove the threat for a decade or more. Get rid of their vast hoard of inherited Soviet arms and ammo while breaking their will for war, their military, government and economy. Once the military experts saw how shitty the Russian army was, its many weaknesses, and Ukraine's strength and morale, they came up with a strategic plan.

Tucker Carlson Says 'Christian' Hungary Targeted by Biden
Tucker Carlson took the Biden administration's "dangerous and insane" State Department to task for its targeting of Hungary because "it's a Christian country."

"Let's take a pass on Hungary," Carlson told MCC Feszt in Budapest, Hungary, on Friday, suggesting a new foreign policy direction for the State Department. "We've got bigger problems.

"But they can't. They hate Hungary. And they hate it not because of what it's done, but because of what it is. It's a Christian country, and they hate that. And that's the truth. And nobody wants to say it, but it's true.

"I love the United States; it's my country; to restate, I was born there and I'm never leaving — and I love my country, but the people who run it right now are dangerous and insane.

"And you can see that in the way they're treating your country. Which, even if you don't like the values of the majority of Hungarians, even if you reject the Hungarian Constitution, is Christo-centric and think that Viktor Orbán is a bad guy and you hate goulash.
"Even if everything about Hungary is repugnant to you, if you're in the United States, you're still not going to spend a lot of time hassling Hungary because Hungary isn't hassling anybody else."

Carlson's comments came as the Biden administration appears to be at odds with Budapest on several issues.
The conservative Orban government has opposed open immigration policies and has pushed for EU neutrality over the war in Ukraine.
Earlier this month the State Department announced plans to limit visa waivers for Hungarians seeking to enter the U.S.
Citing security concerns regarding passports Hungary issued beginning in 2011 until 2020, the U.S. opted to drastically limit Hungary's participation in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization program.

Signing up for an ESTA allows citizens from 40 participating countries to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days.
The Biden administration claims Hungary has easily granted passports to dual citizens, creating a security issue.
Budapest has responded that it does security checks on all passport holders and has had no problems with dual citizens. Other European countries also offer dual citizenship with passports and have not been targeted.

Carlson said Hungary's positioning as a Christian nation has made it a convenient target of Washington.
"It's not a particularly provocative Christian country," Carlson said. "I don't think most Hungarians go to church. It's not a theocracy. You're not required to believe in the catechism to live here.

"It's nothing like that. It's a soft Christian country, the softest ever: 300 years ago, people would look at modern Hungary and say, That's not a Christian country. But by modern standards, it's one of the last countries that identifies as a nation built on Christian precepts."

Tucker needs to go to Russia and report the war from the Russian side, be embedded with the troops and HIMARSed on camera many miles behind the lines.

Russian authorities impose new rules for small aircraft in Moscow suburbs after local residents repeatedly mistake planes for Ukrainian drones
Airfields around Moscow have begun sharing flight information with law enforcement agencies in response to multiple incidents in which local residents mistook small aircraft for Ukrainian drones and reported them to emergency services, RBC reported on Tuesday, citing airfield representatives.

Management from four airfields and flying clubs reported that residents had complained about planes at their facilities. After each complaint, police launched an investigation and requested flight information from the airfield.

“It used to be that the police would come, look around, and ask whether [planes] had taken off at our airfield. [...] Lately, they’ve been calling me directly,” said Viktor Lobkovsky, the head of the company that operates an airfield in the village of Nudol. Other airfield directors reported having meetings with police and security officials and being asked to identify aircraft on video footage taken by local residents.

Additionally, the authorities reportedly restricted the area in which members of one flying club are allowed to fly after their aircraft interfered with air defense systems.

Drones attack an airfield in the Pskov region. This was stated by the head of the region Mikhail Vedernikov.

“The Ministry of Defense at the Pskov airport reflects the attack of drones. Since the beginning of the incident, I have personally been on the spot, ”wrotehe is in the telegram channel. According to him, there are no casualties, the scale of destruction is specified.

TASS: four planes damaged in Pskov after a drone attack
Several Il-76 aircraft were damaged in Pskov after a drone attack on a military airfield. This was reported to TASS by emergency services. Now they are trying to put out the fire at the military airfield. There is no information about the victims at the moment.

It appears the Ukrainians are hammering Russian aviation at its bases inside Russia, seeking to drive them back even further to stay out of range. I wonder if it's a cardboard drone blitz? If so, it could be a big one with hundreds or thousands of drones launched over a week or two. Imagine what a thousand cardboard drones could do to Russian aviation if they worked as they are claimed to and attacked them at their forward bases. US supplied encrypted GPS access is very accurate and hard to jam and should have no problem landing a small UAV plane with 4kg of explosives on top of one even using commercial satellite data to locate the targets.

" if they worked as they are claimed:

What is the claim?

"US supplied encrypted GPS access is very accurate and hard to jam"

Do you have more information on this?

"no problem landing a small UAV plane with 4kg of explosives"

Thought the cardboard planes can carry 0.45kg, not 4kg.

about a pound

(edit) I recall Suchomimus saying (in his correction) four to five. The drones are probably featherweight, with low wingloading, and can pack much payload.

The reports out of Ukraine, you posted one. I thought it was 4Kg, this guy says so. Encrypted military grade GPS would do it and I think the Europeans have a separate GPS system too, the Russians use GPS jamming and lately it doesn't appear effective even in Moscow. The circle of error probability is a lot less than a meter with this enhanced GPS system.

It's the electronics that make them effective and accurate, the cardboard makes them cheap and stealthy. It looks to me like they are mass attacking airfields with them. If you have an advantage like this, it would be best to spring it all at once, before they can react.

I think 4kg of this shit would be enough to destroy a parked Russian plane, if it hit it or near it and they are not small targets even for commercial GPS, as long as it wasn't jammed. Drones move slower than missiles and can update their position more accurately using lower grade hardware.
