War

The Russians continue to take their daily pounding with troops and equipment destroyed, even attacking the casualty ratio favors the Ukrainians by a lot, thanks to training, good medical aid and support and superior weapons and tactics. They continue to dictate the pace of the war and are attiring Vlad's military by the day, wearing it away. Sure, Vlad can put untrained warm bodies into the field with small arms and little to no training for those. Helmets, body armor and even uniforms can be had from the Chinese, but they are supposedly clamping down on drones and drone parts for both sides. However, Ukraine has a lot of western "third party" countries who can help with that by simply transshipping.

China appears to want to make nice with America and does not need more trouble than its internal ones, which are big. Russia would not be a asset in any alliance, they would be a liability and an expense for China. Besides if Russia's empire dissolves, there are opportunities right on China's doorstep in the independent far east Russian republics. China can build railroads to them quickly in many cases and provide an economic lifeline to newly independent Asian republics near the Pacific coast and their boarders.

It is up now. Logging in with Google also give Google the opportunity to keep tabs on me, see that as being just as bad. Not that it will effect me in any way (other than targeted ads), it is the power these companies are amassing with us happily going along with it (how many reads the agreements for using their services). I may not go as far as getting a VPN, thinking of making a foil hat and wearing it whenever I go online.

Their algorithms and AI are intensely interested in your online behavior, you can use the tor dark web browser and I think the newest version of windows edge has a free VPN built in, also there are a number of settings you can change in Windows 10 and there are YouTube videos and quick guides on it.

Using magnetometers to detect mines with drones and agricultural drones can fly a GPS guided pattern over the field right out of the box and when it finds a mine, with custom SW it can accurately record its position and even drop a marker on or near it. They should be able to fly the hanging sensor over the fields less than a meter above the vegetation. Modern GPS systems use satellites from several kinds of geolocation systems including the Russian Glonass system, you can have 20 satellites with a cheap commercial system and that can give you a foot of accuracy going slow over a field. There are three ways to detect mines using drones, magnetometers, infrared cameras detecting them at dusk and early evening, and traditional radio signals with receiving coils, which can be suspended like this detector. A drone can fly the pattern over the field automatically and record it's results and drop markers on mines. Drones can also observe when mines are deployed too and should be able to map their locations as well.

Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers use metal detecting drones to get rid of Putin’s mines in farmlands near the Russian border

Volunteers use large agricultural drones to search for mines with new algorithms to clear mines out of farmlands in order for Ukrainian farmers to continue using them.

You might see automated systems like this mounted on the roofs of trucks, tanks, light fighting vehicles and APCs for self-defense against drones and perhaps even some missiles. It detects the incoming drone and can shoot automatically if set to do so by the operator since it can react faster than they can.

The war in Ukraine has featured the most intensive use of drones ever. While drones have been deployed in combat since Vietnam the quantity in operation now is a step change. Norman Hermant looks at a world-leading system designed in Australia that aims to counter the threat.

But a built in VPN would be hosted by Microsoft, would it not? I use Firefox and limit the cookies I collect. Not going whole hog, just enough to make me feel better about myself.

I dunno, I just noticed it in a recent update for Edge. Private VPNs can be had on a contract basis, no subscriptions required. You can create a completely fictious user even on the computer and register with google to gain access to many social media sites and YouTube customization.

You kinda need to register on YouTube because of the sheer volume of content and it can present things you generally like, but you can do it under another identity.

Figured I would put this one in war, since it concerns US troops and Trump who is a traitor and has contempt for those who serve their country, calls them suckers and losers. Kelly lays it on the line and who are ya gonna believe General Kelly or Trump, because Trump will call him a liar.

I have enough problems dealing with my current identity. "Who am I, why am I here?"
