Got one rainbow about 10" long that I brought home to join his missing friends in my dugout. Half dozen in there now.
Took my drone and did some video of my poor fly casting technique out in the boat. Too cold? I'll be hauling my little tinny down to a lake until I need a quad to drag it across the ice to open water!
'Tis getting chilly here too with the forecast saying we are going to have a prolonged fall season due to el nino so I might get a few more trips in than usual. Those rhythmic ripples are from the aerator and go clear across the lake and it's noisy as well.

Gearing up to go hunting for the first time and picked up a nice Savage Axis .270 with a Bushnell scope, Redhead plastic case and strap, trigger lock and a red dot bore sight you stick in the barrel to sight in the scope for $400. Would cost me more to get a scope mount and scope for my old .303. Also got 3 full boxes of 150gr soft points for $60 to go with it from my neighbour selling for a friend knocked down and out by a stroke. Picked up a new 12 gauge pump Canadian Defender shotgun for $400 just on Friday when we went to the city. Has a pistol grip, raptor style one and a shoulder stock with 3 chokes and a flash suppressor. Made in Turkey FFS.
As a senior I can get my license for only $8.30 and a white-tail tag for $8.25. Hell of a deal. Still have to take the online first time hunter's course for $70 so will sign up for that tonight I think.

With ground bison going for $17/lb I'm looking forward to some free meat this winter and there's lots of areas just 10 - 20 min away that have an abundance of white-tail ripe for the picking. Hoping to find a buddy that just wants to go out looking in the late afternoons. Not really into the crack-o-dawn expedition thing. Already getting dark by 7:30 now.
