TRUMP CONVICTED

yeah kinda figure this was gonna happen......and of course he'll try to appeal....imo i think that was the main thing he wanted to do today, is to make a case of the appeals court or something like that.....meanwhile:

Trump's legal team said shortly after he wrapped up his testimony they intend to file a mistrial in the former president's fraud case.

The grounds for the motion were not immediately clear, but appeared to reference the judge's principal clerk who has become an unwitting main character in the trial.

“We obviously will be moving for mistrial…we don't want to put anyone at risk,” Trump attorney Alina Habba said.

My, my, my,

Things got a bit heated today both inside and outside of the NY fraud trial courtroom.

Repugs got a meme today. Engoron quite accurately responded to Habas' demand that he listen to whatever Trump wants to say by telling her:
"I'm not here to hear what he says, I'm here to listen to him answer questions"

Repug meme that will be seen plastered everywhere in the right wing echo chamber: "I'm not here today to hear what he says". Habas made that misattribution before the press almost immediately after Judge Engoron uttered those words. Score one for the right wing propaganda machine. The outrage and hurt that showed on Habas's face while she expressed outrage at being told to sit down after telling the judge he had to listen while Trump's rambling complaints did not answer questions from the prosecution says it all about right wing authoritarian disregard for the rule of law. Can you imagine anybody else demanding that the judge overseeing their trial that they had to listen to everything they say regardless of what they are saying?

At the end of all this the lawyers that the Save America PAC are paying to represent Trump will file for a mistrial and delay yet again Trump's day to face justice while sucking down fat paychecks paid for by whoever it is that are funding the Save America PAC.

But, really? Their motion for a mistrial will center on Engoron's law clerk and not anything that happened during the trial?

Trump’s Lawyer May Ask for Mistrial Because of … the Law Clerk?

I guess anything, imagined or not, can be used by Save America's lawyers to in court filings. They might even use something from a Bazooka gum wrapper comic strip. Witness the prediction Bazooka Gum made in 1960 about Eric Trump's testimony:

I love how the right authoritarians are crying right now

Mistrail cause of the law clerk.....oh that's really gonna go well with the Appeals court.....i can see that denied already....

what i did like is the NY judge didn't take the bait, since the orange man and his goofy legal team were trying so desperately to get him, the only thing they have is a "Sit down" which basically a STFU from the judge, and a butt hurt Habba

BREAKING: CNN's Kate Bolduan is stunned live on air by Donald Trump's disastrous testimony in his massive civil fraud lawsuit — and she doesn't hold back in her analysis.

This is just too perfect...

Bolduan, who is known for her level-headed and fair analysis, couldn't help but react in shock to how incoherent and rambling Trump's testimony turned out to be.

"His take on his, his description of his involvement in these financial statements, and it seems somewhat from the quotes coming out like a word salad on the stand," said Bolduan.

"And some of them," she went on. "I thought that the apartment was high, and we changed it, and earlier, he said that he thought that the values were off on the financial statements at times both high and low, and ultimately Mar-a-Lago was underestimated as we heard him say outside of the court, and then he said, 40 Wall Street was very underestimated for tremendous value."

If you had trouble following that, just imagine how difficult it was for the people in court. The rumors of Trump's cognitive decline are strengthened every time he opens his mouth.

"And the attorney, and one of the state, Kevin Wallis, one of the attorneys seemed visibly surprised when he said both high and low, and pausing to review a transcript before asking Trump to elaborate," Bolduan went on.

This testimony has proven to be, without a caveat, an unmitigated disaster. Trump is doomed in this case, and the judge should throw the book at him.

Lawrence: Trump incriminated himself and his children with one word on the stand

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell analyzes Donald Trump’s historic testimony in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil fraud case against him, his family and his business, including his what may prove to be a crucial error when Judge Engoron decides what penalties to impose.

Trump attorney says New York attorney general is ‘just not that bright’
Former President Trump’s attorney Alina Habba went after New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday, saying she’s “just not that bright.”

James is leading the ongoing civil trial against Trump alleging that he and his adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, spent years committing business fraud by inflating and deflating the value of their company’s assets.

Habba, in a Newsmax interview Monday, said James doesn’t have a good case. However, Judge Arthur Engoron already ruled that the fraud occurred, and the ongoing trial is set to determine damages.

“She’s just not that bright. I’m sorry, I have to say it,” Habba said. “I’ve seen their case; I’ve seen their lawyers. They don’t know what they’re talking about.”

She argued that what the judge ruled is fraud is actually industry standard behavior.

“Just because a bank who’s giving you a loan says it’s worth what the loan amount is, which is what happens when anybody takes a loan out, they’re never going to say the real value,” she continued. “They’re going to say what they want to say and not a penny more, or what the loan amount is and not a penny more.”

“She needs to educate herself, maybe go to some — I don’t even know how to express how ridiculous this is,” Habba said. “It’s like being in a circus with a bunch of — I mean, what I want to say I can’t say on TV, but it’s crazy. You know, it’s just ridiculous. Anybody with a brain understands that this is just completely insane.”

Trump took the stand in the trial Monday and repeatedly clashed with Engoron, whom he has consistently accused of trying to come after him with political motives.

At one point during the testimony, Engoron interrupted a rambling Trump answer, which resembled an impromptu stump speech.

“Mr. Kise, can you control your client? This is not a political rally,” Engoron asked of Trump’s attorney, Chris Kise.

James is seeking $250 million in financial penalties and to ban Trump and his sons from operating businesses in New York.

After Monday’s testimony, James said she was not deterred by what she described as Trump’s “distractions.”

“He rambled, he hurled insults, but we expected that,” James told reporters. “But I will not be bullied; I will not be harassed.”

“This case will go on,” she added.

"Then why exactly am I being paid as an attorney?" Great question, Miz Habba.

She echoes what Trump wants spoken. Women are "nasty" and black women are both "nasty" and "not that bright". Same ol' racist and misogynistic song and dance.

looks like during yesterdays Orange Pumpkin explosion the AG even got a laugh in......:

this is from Adam Klasfeld X page, he was in the court room during the proceedings:

"Trump, on NYAG Letitia James: "She doesn't even know what 40 Wall Street is."

NYAG is visibly cackling at the remark for a bit, then puts her head down to compose herself. "

p.s she can see the building from her office

She will be getting what's left soon enough, let's see what it fetches at the receiver's auction. I would look for a report from the receiver on everything Trump wants to hide and maximum exposure by the judge when he wraps up the case taking Trump to the cleaners for the maximum amount. Maybe the Saudi's will swoop in and buy Mar A logo for a billion and his other properties at what Trump claimed they were worth to the banks! But it's about false records and unpaid taxes in the past. I can't see there not being a NY criminal conspiracy trial over all this at some point in the future.

Larry Kudlow on Fox in lead up to a diatribe by Alina Habba:

"A leftwing judge doesn't even have the grace to let the 45th president speak in COURT much less on the what the 45th president of the United States did as a realtor to change the face of real estate in New York."

"They will not let Donald Trump speak his piece"

What he said is true. The judge (left wing or not) did not let Trump treat the courtroom as like he has treated MSNBC and other stations when they tried to interview him. The judge did not allow Trump to deflect, change the topic, distract and insult people, when he began to do that, the judge put a stop to it and told Trump to answer the questions.

Kudlow goes on,

"He's (Trump) trying to explain the science of real estate, the accounting of real estate, OK? He knows it very well, you might disagree with it but he knows if very well."

Habba:

"We are wasting all this time and he (judge) won't let the President is the person trying to get to explain why he certified to certain values."

OK. Now we are getting somewhere. The prosecuting lawyers are asking questions and Trump is not answering them, he's meandering off topic or telling the court how "real estate valuations" are just something that can be made up. The judge interrupts and tells Trump to answer the question. This is not unusual in court. When the accused is on the stand. It is the prosecuting attorney's job to press his case and asks closed ended questions that simply require a yes or no. It is the defense's job to go back and give the accused the chance to explain. But the defense is not doing that.

But they didn't do that. Instead they left and made their case to the press. Outrage and anger. Plea to emotion. Calling the AG and her team stupid. What is it they say about that? If you can't pound them with the truth or the law then pound the table?

Trump's defense team could have pounded back by giving Trump that chance to speak. They could have pounded back by giving Trump the opportunity to explain what the prosecution would not allow him to say. But they did not. They let Trump take his lumps in court and went outside to pound the table. Makes one wonder why? Were they afraid to let Trump speak his lies and perjure himself?

Instead, more rabble rousing. Speaking of which, Habba has a gag order preventing her from attacking the clerk that Trump has focused his rage upon. She can't speak about her. So Kudlow did. "she has a list a mile long of left wing causes she has donated to, what's up with that?" So, Kudlow is part of the fascist machine now. Doing the dirty work. Licking up the blood Trump's gang is spilling.

And Fox was on its collective knees licking it up with him.

In this case the audience of one is the judge, not Trump, they can whine and bitch all they want to the public. It is the judge who has the adding machine for the settlement and the receiver has her adding machine for his corporate assets. I'm sure when the dust settles with the receiver's report and final judgement, we will have a much clear picture of what Trump WAS worth. Donald is very upset about this, so I'm looking forward to the results to find out why. There will likely be future NY criminal conspiracy indictments coming out of this too.

Trump's attorney's were setting the stage for appeals and motions to throw the case out or mistrial. This is far from over and done.

He can appeal, but can he delay the receiver's report and disgorgement. I think he fears the receiver's report to the judge the most, everything will be exposed, and his assets will remain frozen. Even if the judge gave his shit and put him in jail for contempt, it would have no bearing on the outcome, it's about fraud, not his behavior and antics in the courtroom, or outside it. He knows his stuff and he is gonna nail Donald for the maximum amount I figure. Donald won't win on appeal and his assets are frozen until they take them.
