I found some really old seeds stored in the fridge. I mean Really old- like 2006. Kandahar strain from the 80's we used to smoke before all the exotics came around.
Anyway, I hade like 50 seeds, so I used the 24 hrs soak and paper towel method.
Surprise! 42 seeds germinated.
18 year old seeds! WTF?
So I'll pick the best and grow it out.
Anyone else have seeds this old germinate?

Some keep better than others that's good news though I think its it's all down to how there stored too as long as there cool and dry away from strong light there good for ages I've had quite a few as old and older still be viable so u don't know till you try them

I kept them in a small zip lock, which was stored inside a rolled up baby sock, which was in a small mason jar in the crisper drawer of my fridge.
I keep mine in original packaging, in an airtight Tupperware type container with a locking lid. I throw a few silica packs in for good.measure and try to change them once or twice a year....whenever I'm sowing new seeds

Yes I have beans from the old SSSC site back in the 80's. Freeze land, Sk #1 and a few others.
I keep mine in the deep freeze and let them thaw out about 24hrs in the dark then put them into an aloe concoction to get them to awaken

It will be Friesland indica the m33 you got if it's sssc seedstock bud cos the freeze land is a Friesland bx line very popular back in the day in Canada using pluton for the incross sssc sold it's parent line not the freeze it's named after an area in Holland just like the Friesland cattle are
