Barnsley Jack & Friends...

Hi guys been a while but yeah 20 years growing this year

I grew a lot of 0t1s stuff back in the day as well as all sorts of other things ugorg and then a lot of heath robinsons stuff.
And I have tried pretty much all styles of growing along the way, from organic soil to d.i.y rdwc heath Robinson style, vertical bare bulb,my to l.e.d
I have also bread a couple of different strain , black 'n' blues , uk tropical and uk47.
I don't have any seeds as I lost my collection during a house move , absolutely gutted but that's just the way it is

.
Anyway I'm here to document my grow and share the knowledge I have learnt over the past 20 years.

Recent years iv been growing a lot of the new American genetics like in house genetics seeds n then these so called elite clones and a lot of perfect tree seeds stuff.

But my overall opinion on these genetics is most of them carnt for me. The gene pool is very muddeled at the moment and just doesn't do it for me like the old uk skunks did , livers, barnsley jack, ssh, cheese are the sorts that really stick with you for a life time.

I am currently in the middle of giving my grow room a full revamp so for now there in a temporary home.

Hoping for some real old school skunk with this run really carnt wait for it , I can smell the nostalgia already

Be watching bud not heard of that cutting in along time many think it's a super skunk rather than jack sadly alot of the older UK cuts are gone or very rare these days anyway good luck man

Barnsley Jack is the sister plant to the legendary Livers aka blues/Sheffield blues. They are thought to be skunk #1 , there is a story about it being a sk#1 x NL cross or b52 x Shiva skunk , but who knows . What I do no is, 2 guys that owned a grow shop in sheffield went to meet mr livers to obtain the plants. When the guys went to the meet, 1 guy went in and came out with 2 mother plants that are in my opinion , 2 separate phenos ,they are very similar but so different as well smell, flowering time the lot ..anyway . With instructions from mr livers , not to call the plants livers as it was giving him a bad name and getting him ontop. Not long after this the 2 growshop partners went separate ways. 1 stayed in the sheffield and 1 opened a hydro shop in Barnsley. The sheffield guy kept 1 mother and passed the cuttings out as livers.The barnsley guy passed cuttings of the other mother out as Jack, the only reason it was call Jack is because Jackherrer had just won the cannabis cup, it is not related to jackherrer!



This information is what I believe to be true and I have put it together from info posted online posted on various forums and talking to a guy from the local area but mainly posts by goldensyrup !

Don't suppose you know or heard of anyone with nelly still in there stable it's cheese x nl probably Nirvana's nl was the male used in it from all I gather ? I think it might be a gone hopefully I'm wrong though

Nelly ...waw I haven't heard that name for a long time .. no unfortunately I do not no much about the nelly cut...i have heard of it but never had it !

Yeah iv done a few chem cuts n crosses they are where nice, insane seed posse chem 91 bx3 I did a pack of them and tbf yeah it was up there at that level real depth to the flavour and the high n smelt strong .. dont no if there still about these days?? They where the best chems I grew

I've heard good things about there chem another nice one is verdant greens c4dd that's very close to the chem D in alot of phenos pretty nice stuff

Day 32 from putting seeds & cuttings in coco

They are now in there new room aso they uave oitgrow the little tent. The room is only have finished, going to try and get it finished next week !! But temps are really stable its just they finishing touches to make things look nice .

Also iv killed 3 male killer skunks, but iv kept 3 interesting looking ones as well

Hi guys been 10 days since my last update , but iv been a very busy man building this new roomand didnt want to give a half built update

, its about 90% conplete. Still a few bits n bobs to do like get the extension off the floor and get some white sheeting for the floor and a few other bits. But yeah im happy with the room now.
Its running like a dream .
So this is a attic bedroom and a weird shape, had to cut my tent down to 1.7m high to fit it in and i ran it like this for a few grows. But the other week i had a brain storm!!!
Decided to cut the tent up and uses it to create a decent grow space within the bedroom that i could work with.

Equipment :-
migro aray 4x4 500w
omega black 720w
2 light timer (nothing fancy but forgot the brand)
ppfd app on phone to check ppfd
X2 6" mountain air cf and rvk (only using 1 atm)
12"ram eco oscillating fan
12" standard oscillating fan
freak controle intelligent controler
eletech stc 100 (to controle oil rads)
x2 oil filled radiators
x1 fan heater with built in thermostat

Right so i thinks thats it for equipment, probally forgot something buy yeah

So the plants are doin well now, admittedly while i was building the room, i put the new light in turn it on and didnt realise how powerful it was. When i returned 5-6 hour later the plants drooped so i checked the ppfd and it was just over 500

from 250, school boy error , alway check ppfd of new light tempa. So yeah they drooped ,burn tips here n there n went slightly faded and a few rust spots.
Anyway i mover the light away alightly upped the feed to 1.3 and gave them a foliar feed of plant magin evo. Here we are a few days later lookimg much better .
Oh the big plants have been potted into 7.5L pots and the small plants are in 2L with cana coco pro+ in all pots

So out of the pack of killer skunk i popped, there was 13 seeds all popped but i killed 1 trying to help it get the shell off.

But out of 12 plants there 8 males. And 4 females. All great plants and there was a couple i kept looking at a saying "i wish u was a female ffs"

Anyway iv binned 7 males and just kept one it really is a stand out plant it! It stinks more than any plant in there and the structure is great . To say iv not gave it as much attention as the others , because its male and i wasnt planning on keeping a male, but its that good a plant i carnt throw it lol.







Its been topped once but hasnt had any LST like the other plants



Jack cuttings are looking well so thats backed up now happy days .

Still need to sort the veg room out but thats guna have to wait a week.

Guna put these into 12/12 in a few day to a wekk we will see.
