Republican lawmaker on Trump-Zelensky meeting: ‘A bad day for America’s foreign policy’
Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) characterized Friday’s contentious meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “bad day” for U.S. foreign policy.

“A bad day for America’s foreign policy. Ukraine wants independence, free markets and rule of law. It wants to be part of the West. Russia hates us and our Western values. We should be clear that we stand for freedom,” Bacon said in a Friday text message to The Hill.
Too bad he was as far as I know, the only Republican currently serving, to give an honest, scathing assessment of "the ambush". Republicans are selling out for Putin and dumpy, so sad.

The full 46 minutes.

To those immediately screaming Russia this and Russia that and it was a trap….here excellent post with time stamps of Zelenskyy instigating while Trump is being cordial. Up until the point Zelenskyy’s aggression backfires

I watched and after 6-7 minutes the sound muted, then I scrolled at your depictions of Zelenskey's mannerisms,He could have handled it "a little " better. But he eye roll, let me say when I do a eye roll it's a hell of a lot more pronounced than Zelenskey,so I don't know about that. I don't expect him to sit there and listen to false hoods in order to give access to precious metals w/NO security guarantee to please his "MASTERS", let all the disinfo perpetrated by Trump against a country suffering intensely and stay mute as it's leader. Trump 350 M,fact 150M and 100M actually delivered and mostly surplus crap although still useful, don't think our forces sacrificed ANYTHING top notch in their inventory. Trump wants praise for Biden's work aiding Ukraine for which gratitude has been expressed multiple times.Trump saying Putin and himself "gone through a lot together" is a crock of shit. Vance stating Zelenskey trashed Trump in PA is BS,he was there at a armament factory, once again expressing gratitude. Vance ,hates Ukraine, and used to trash Trump himself, now needs a box of tissue to wipe the shit of his nose that he buried in Trump's butt. The whole thing is sickening,I won't go so far to say it was a set up,but hey I don't expect Zelenskey to be a subserviant puppy, listening to BS about his nation that has bled deep red for 3+ yrs.. Screw it,let Europe step up for 2 yrs till mid terms,Dems will own the Congress after 2 yrs of Trumps disastrous Tariffs,Inflation, and govt. service gutting. Russia is out of tricks,Putin HAS to draft from Moscow/St. Petersburg pops. for more troops now and his war footing economy is spiraling inflation. Ukraine can last til 2027 sans American help if Europe steps up more then a D Congress can weigh in on this,. It's better than accepting a Putin/Trump wink/wink Ukraine screw job. SLAVA UKRAINE

The oligarchy is fully entrenched. Press pool now under POTUS control. Checks and balance going by the wayside for authoritarianism. No speculation here. The actions (which of course speaks louder than words) of this administration cannot be construed any other way. It's blatantly obvious. I'm sure there will be more degradation of democratic principles to come, but a great deal of change has already occurred. Scary times.

Wonder if Canada will have to rethink it's policy of no nuclear weapons. If the Ukraine still had theirs, Putin may have thought twice about attacking and invading.

I think the support of Ukraine is waning across the world , not just here in the States. I texted with a Romanian friend last night and she said they want the war over ( she very much supported Ukraine at the start of the war) I suspect people over that way feel the same and they probably have a clearer view of what is actually going on.

Our only power is if we unite. Boycotts are good, a national strike would be better. If one person doesn't buy or calls in , no one would notice. If a million do that you'll get some attention. 100 million will definitely get some attention.

That the electorate voted for the twice impeached, adjudicated sexual abuser, 4 times indicted, 34 felony count convicted insurrectionist doesn't leave me feeling warm and fuzzy about the future of the USA or the world. Yesterday was a new low. Seems the felon is just getting started. More tariffs for allies next week.
