how much plant can these pots support?

they are getting pretty big now as you can see the pics from a few days ago in my other thread. if i even stick my finger an inch into the soil i feel like im pushing through roots. it didnt used to be like that. is that a sign that they are getting too big for their pots? i wish i could get bigger ones for them for until i can sex them, but the pot upgrade is going to have to be held off until then..just no room. what do you think?

how do you like this big guy? i bought 2 of them at the home depot the other day. im thinking about adding a shelf halfway up my closet so i can grow 2 full sized females. think thats a good idea? the plants are definitely indica, and very short and bushy, so i dont think i need to worry about them getting too tall even at the end of flowering. and my closet is 8 feet high at least..so i think it might be a really good idea. it could up my yield bigtime.

anyways these new pots are approx. 7 gallons each. 14.5 inch diameter at the top, about 11 inches at the bottom, and 12 inches high. they should be more than enough for a fat adult female eh?

p.s. thought id throw in a pic of my grow as of today too

looks small....... and prob cost you like 2 dollars.. waste of money if u ask me... square is the way to go :P

Can get good plants in little pots... these ones will have to be staked up externally when they're bout through budding but yeah it'll do the trick watering 3x a week.

dwr..put ur glasses on theyre 7 gallons. they can handle the root system of any big marijuana plant. and they cost like 10 bucks each. couldnt find square ones but circular is baarely worse. its all good

yeah its all good... dont wear glasses.

10 bucks each.. wow.. You could ask the local garden shop for Rose Pots.. there mostly square and if your lucky they will give em out free :D

typhoon..huh? yeah i have a fan which i blow on them at diff levels for a good amount each day. and the lights are as close as they can be without burning the plants..

and as for their height..i cant help but keep them short haha.. these guys just have short, fat genetics

I have grown nearly all my plants in 2 gallon pots. I did a side by side comparison using 1 gallon pots and 5 gallon buckets while growing clones fron the same mother. They were vegged till about 12 inches then flowered. Other then the constant watering, the 1 gallons yeilded as much as the 5 gallons. But if your gonna grow monsters you need bigger pots. Never do you need more then 10 gallons though. I grew a 12 footer with only 8 gallons of soil and its yeild was more then its 14 foot sister that was put in the ground. Easier nutrient controll with pots rather then just putting it in the ground
