Nice cola! Great inspiration for me
I just re read your entire journal...what can I say, my job is boring...
Those are some serious colas from an auto flowering strain. If I cant do 3/4 as well with my auto ak's I'll be very happy. I really hope that having a 1000w light will help me out. So far you using your 400 MH has been the highest wattage auto flowering journal I've read so I'm really hoping for some good results but I've done this often enough not to get too hopeful this early on. I bought my first seeds from a seed bank downtown when I was 15...ah, the good ol days..
Mine are on day 6 since being placed in paper towel for germination and I'm using my 400 MH for now but they've all popped thru the surface now so I'll be switching to the 1000 any day. Would you reccomend HPS or MH? I was planning on MH then switching after they show sex but I just read you liked the HPS spectrum better. I have a digi ballast and both bulbs so it's easy enough to use either just wanna do what's best for the plants.
Thanks in advance and awesome buds man!
there are only two females in there now, with 6 skunky clones. they are pollinated and have seeds omn the bottom branches so when i harvest in a week ill get right on another round of autos. Thanks for the reply!
I was actually wondering about scrog methods myself as well as topping etc. I haven't seen much info in the way of topping or trimming these things at all but I'm knew here so I could have missed it. I have topping lots but have no scrog experience altho it seems simple enough. I might have to hold back tho since I went and germinated 21 auto ak's and my tent is only 4'8x 4'8. So assuming you start the scrog after sex is shown I guess it depends on how many girls I end up with. The ak's also have that large phenotype which might mess up having a scrog. I guess I'll just have to wait and see
I have a cool tube myself and it's totally the way to go. When I walk into my room the room is quite warm but inside the tent is never more than 72 or so. I hope this crop will be done by mid june before it gets too too warm outside.
Even tho I've read your journal twice I can't even remember how many female lowryders you ended up with..but they sure do look nice
im currently debating on buying a tent or making one myself, just so that i can use the co2 setup i have. to be honest im not sure if the larger plant is going to yield a ton more than the shorter one the way this grow went. only time (2-3 weeks) and a scale will tell. i like the use of these autos if i could get close to 2oz consistently. since they stay relativerly small untill 20 days in. 8 plants could yield 1lb every 30 days in a constant cycle of green yummies mmmmmmmmm drooooooooling on my laptop.Nice ok well I'll get out the scissors then.
I'm afraid your avatar is not showing...
What I think would be amazing would be if you could isolate the large phenotype and have an auto that would be almost regular size but still done in 10-11 weeks. I used to ehm 'assist' with very large grows and we'd always buy at least 100 clones at a time ever six weeks, but with a feminized auto strain that consistently could yield 2-3 ozs a plant in 10-11 weeks...you get the idea...I'm a little older now tho so it's all a pipe dream
*sigh*
I'll just focus on what's in the tent now and try my hand at a scrog. If I could get the whole tent filled with a solid canopy that would be awesome
way to jac up my thread with information posted like 2 months ago buddy, all of which pertains very little to my current status. Read before speaking tytytyty.Amen to that, Brother dsn, Again you point out , a difficult concept to accept. and often learned the hard way .
These Nutrient companies do not sell watered down Nutrients, The stuff is very concentrated. The doses they suggest work great on many plant species.
However, this most enjoyable species, has a problem, with overfeeding, not underfeeding.
Unlike other plant species ,
these grow with mild amounts of fertilizer, but are sensitive to high concentrations.
Retribution for, too high of a nutrient concentration, is rapid and difficult to reverse.
Overfeeding will cause mineral "lock out" ,resulting in mineral deficiencies and nutrient burn.
The common treatment is more Nutrients, this only makes things worse.
Surprisingly enough, cutting back the concentration of Nutrients to 50% , or 25%, will bring the plants back to the strong rapid growth, and a delicious green color.
Unfortunately
Sea Of Green technique, is not big on long vegetative periods.
The goal is , rapidly bring them to maturity. Taking time to cure a nutrient overdose, runs into harvest time. Once flowering is induced, it is often only 40-60 days until harvest. If the plant is recovering from over feeding, it takes up a good part of the flowering cycle .
If/when
Then damage is severely imparing the plants ability to recover(those leaves are sorta important) . The salts moved past the roots and are killing the leaves.
- 1. lower leaves are yellowing,
- 2. middle layer leaves are dark green with brown spots, stiff like paper,
- 3.newer maturing leaves are slow growing and smaller.
Leaves should be soft, pliable, lush, vibrantly healthy, large, evenly green.
The Cure
There will be good buds at harvest , but it would have been more, and better.
- 1. Drastically (50%) reduce the Nutrient concentration,
- 2. more frequent waterings,
- 3. allow at least 50%++ of the solution to drain away and carry off the excess salt.
- 4. Do this for more than a few days. Keep the concentration low for a few weeks .
teasers here for yawoah man, gimme the heads up, i wanna see this beast chopped
looking sexy man! any parts of the bud purple? love it when the plants go purple.....hows she smelling? +rep for the awesome harvest man
