Gorgeous day out today. I wish I had a nice patio or something to set the babies outside for a little. I think the direct sun and breeze would be awesome for them. Oh well…
Overnight growth is impressive. A’s stalk is noticeably thicker. Roots are growing like crazy. I love how short and fat they’re staying. Happy.

Oh man, it’s starting to get stinky in my closet. Hahaha… The babies are healthy and vigorous. I seriously need to go and get a new carbon filter for my air purifier. Another week or so, and it’s gonna stink up the whole place!

Thanks! I really enjoy seeing them grow.

Actually, no. I only check the pH when i change the water. I try to keep it neutral, but I haven't needed to adjust anything. The water around here is pretty stable and the nutes I use don't seem to change the pH much. Guess I'm just lucky...

Yeah, I guess they do. It might be more just a "plant and water" smell, but it sure does smell like weed to me. I like when I open my closet - if I stick my head in right away and take a deep breath - I get a lung full of sweet baby weed smell and pure oxygen. Nice lightheaded feeling for a few seconds. LOL... it's grrrrrrrrrrreat!

Um, I have 3 compact fluorescent lights. They are all the 43watt/200 watt equivalent. They each emit 9,000 lumens.(Or so the box says) I bought them at home depot for about $10 each. Supposedly, I'm rocking about 27,000 lumens, but I don't have a light meter to verify. Regardless, the babies seem to thrive under it so I must be doing something right.

Those plants look very nice and healthy. Whatever you are doing works very well. The growth is very good as well.

What are you going to use for flowering ( light wise) just cfls or are you gonna upgrade then.

This is the update for 08/20/09

I'm concerned for A. It's leaves are curling in a little bit on the top leaves.
B is still growing and has finally caught up to A. I was concerned for a while because B seemed to be growing pretty slow and when comparing pictures of the two on the same day of growth, B was smaller. But that's not the case anymore. I'm 100% positive now that they are separate strains. They look so different!

Okay. Really concerned about the curling. I looked up some info about it on here and pretty much everyone said it was from having the lights too close. Heat damage. So, I raised the lights about 4 inches and if that doesn't solve the problem, then it's a general room temp thing. But from what I've read, all the leaves would have to be curling for that to be the case. I think I just had the lamps too close. A had been fine until about 2 days ago. But, it's been growing like crazy. It's about time I raised the lights anyways.
I'm thinking that a 2 liter filled with water and then frozen solid positioned on top of the fan would blow cold air throughout the grow room and bring the temperature down. I keep the door open almost constantly for fresh air. Hopefully this fixes the problem.

Aww, thanks! I'm a little concerned about the curling problem I'm having right now, but I'm sure it's an easy fix. I just can't wait to find out what sex they are. I can see the little earwig like pincers coming out of the place where the stem and main stalk meet, but no little hairs yet. I think I've still got about 10 - 15 more days before that!

I'm going to stick with the CFl's. This will be a 100% CFl Bubbleponic grow. Stealth mode. I believe the lamps I'm going to add during flowering will be the 2700K spectrum soft white/warm bulbs. The ones I'm using now are the 6500K spectrum daylight bulbs. They have a blueish tint, whereas the soft white/warm bulbs will have a yellow/orange color to them.

A is already showing improvement just from moving the lights up a little yesterday. We're almost back to normal. The new leaves that were coming in no longer look folded, and the older leaves are flattening out again. I took a closeup of A's earwig pincer looking things. I know that is where the hairs or pods will show for sex. I think I read that it will start to show sex around day 30.
Well, tomorrow I'll be switching the light schedule again and changing out the water/nutes. Wish me luck with the roots. I'm a little nervous about hurting them. They're SO much longer than they were before.

Changed the timer for 16/8 and upped the nutes to 30mL/2L. When I went to go change the solution, I couldn't believe that over half of it was gone! Thirsty babies... oh, and the smell is getting stronger. It's so light and sweet... I really hope they're both girls.

I was worried that the 30mL solution would be too strong for the babies, but they're fine today. There is no discoloration that I can see so far.
I was looking closely at A today. I've got suckers popping out of every branch split and from what I can count, I've got 5 true nodes already. The suckers on the lowest branches are maybe 1-2 inches long right now. I read somewhere that I can pull one of those suckers and put it into flower to sex it earlier. I'm thinking about doing that, but the thought of cutting a piece off my baby makes me sad. Oh well, it's for the better good.
On another note, the time for topping is coming faster than I thought it would. Once I get my 6th node, I'm ready for topping. I'm afraid that with B's current growth, that putting them both into flowering at the same time is a bad idea. I'll probably end up setting up another closet just for A and letting B finish growing. Then again, maybe not. We'll see how much money I have to spend...lol.

Well, it's official that I'm official! I can now grow and smoke legally. The paperwork is all in and I should have my card in a few weeks. I'm so very pleased.
The babies are doing great. I need to go out and pick up some rooting compound for clones. I don't know if I have females yet, so there's no real rush. I think I'm gonna pick up a bigger tub too. The little 3.5 gallon one is not going to be big enough for my future needs. And having two plants in a 3.5 gallon tub is looking to be too crowded. B is going to be overwhelmed by A pretty soon. I was looking at A's rockwool cube today and it's got roots sticking out of it! Little tiny spiky roots.

Looking good. Posted the grow-site papers on my closet door. Still no signs of sex. I'm worried about how much A is crowding B. Maybe I'll just switch them both to a bigger tub.

I missed today. Work meeting at 11am then worked 4-11 pm. No time to do anything but work and eat.

So, I had to move the lights up again. The growth over two days with A was unbelievable. B is being completely crowded out of the light. So - I've decided to go out today and buy them a bigger tub, buy the bloom lights I'll need, and the grow solution I need. I won't start bloom for another few weeks, but I'd like to be prepared and have the babies more comfortable in a bigger space in a bigger bin. *sigh*.

Thanks. Well, the closet I'm growing in right now is about 1 1/2 feet wide by 2 1/2 feet deep and I can get it to a height of about 5 feet. I'll probably be switching them to my bigger closet now that they're getting so big. I just bought a bigger tub, so they'll be in that tomorrow.

Went out and bought the bigger tub for tomorrow's water/nute /light change. I can't believe how much water the babies are consuming!
