I used it on this grow and yes I did get some burn but as someone else posted it was due to heavy watering my fault releasing to much nutes into the root system. When I re-potted I used a mix of the MG soil with nutes and a soiless mix to cut it as well as perlite and the plants are doing great in the mix now.
Next time I'll start with a diluted mix of MG and soiless to avoid burns, but it does hold moisture just like the bag says and I've found that the soiless mix's don't hold water for as long they dry up quicker I don't know why.

I had a lot of problems with my mg soil...... until I stopped watering my plants 2-3 times a day. After that its worked just fine! But I do use the organic MG potting mix, so god won't be angry with me.. here a couple younglings in the mix now!!

I'm not a high price nute nut by any stretch, but I really don't like MG specifically.. I've had much better luck with similar Plant-Prod and Shultz products.. In my experience, every time I tried MG things would start out wonderfully, but things always eventually went downhill and needed alot of flushing to get run-off numbers acceptable..

I like the Moisture Control soil.
In deep 10" pots flowering, I water every 2-3 days. Even then I don't soak it.

I ACTUALLY USED THAT SAME ONE RECENTLY AND DEVELOPED A FEW STRAY WEED SEEDS IN IT AS WELL AS MY PLANT:cry: I ENDED UP GRTTING RID OF IT. BUT ARE YOU SAYING THAT IF YOU DON'T WATER HEAVY WHEN YOU WATER THAT IT WILL BE FINE?

Time release soil is sketchy because it will release at different rates depending on its age, and how it was stored..
It does also bring complications in the sense that flushing it can make problems worse, as well as the fact that no single salt ratio is ideal throughout a grow, and adjusting that may not be as complication free as it would be if you had a chance to thoroughly flush before changing the nutrient regime..

I used mg soil first few rounds with good results but have started mixing my own. A huge bag of peatmoss that will last me at least half a year only $6 at lowes, bag of local compost $1, bag of topsoil $1 and vermaculite and perlite each a few bucks, and worm castings. Mixes enough soil to last me quite a while and then dial the nutes in... Schultz, fish emulsion, Epsom salts, etc. Cheaper than MG when said and done

i use the MG nutes, i got some burn cuz i over watered the sunsobitches..... other than that it worked great through veg... now i'm in flower i use some other random flwering nutes, can't remember which....

i will not use that soil though, heard too many bad stories....

for now i will keep using the fert until it runs out.... same with my flowering... anyways for beginners like me miracle grow is the shiznit, cheap, easy to use, and it works.... laterz

Occasionally, but I do not own one. (swinganamiss) As much as I hate MG. I hate cars more. Do I do things that harm the environment? Yes I do. But I do my best not to. And I don't even have kids! I should milk this planet for all that its worth just like everyone else. I would get more respect from people if I did that. What a shame that is, but you know its true.
The only reason I posted on this thread is that the majority of people dont realize that there IS a difference between organic and non organic agriculture. There is more to consider than just the plant that you are growing. When you buy a MG product, you are placing a vote. A vote FOR chemicals that harm the planet and have a negative impact on your own health, and everyone elses health too. Same when you buy a car. You're saying "hey, I really like this thing". That's why cars are such JUNK. because people love them and buy them up like candy. there's no reason for the manufactures to make cars better. You all love them just the way they are. I worked in the auto industry for many years. Its kinda like the way people wont eat at the resturant at which they used to work because they know how unsanitary it is. Ignorance IS bliss.
The votes you place everyday for the things that you buy are much more powerful than the presidential votes you place once every 4 years.
The future of agriculture on earth will be organic, or it will be non-existent.
What the heck does having kids have to do with this????????

Because itsgrowinglikeaweed took this thread as an opportunity to let us know he/she thinks MG is harmful to the planet. Then went on to explain what else he/she does to save our planet's resources and generally leave a smaller carbon footprint. (This was in response to FDD's query whether he/she owned a car in an attempt to point out some hypocrisy). Al Gore would be proud.

Anyway, some folks think (and probably rightly so) that having kids is the most harmful thing you can do to our environment. You are producing more individuals who will use and/or misuse our planets limited resources. So, all things being equal, an individual who doesn't produce offspring is harming the planet much less than an individual who does.

However, this theory presupposes that you aren't having a kid that also happens to be a genius and somehow figures out a way to, say, power a vehicle with human urine and the exhaust smells like fresh baked bread.

I think that was the point being made. I could be wrong.
