Blueberries v2.0 (grow journal)

A week after I started my big bud grow, I decided to sprout some more blueberry seeds. I had read a grow journal on another forum and saw the unbelievable pix from a guy that grew strictly in soil - a custom blended mix - to which he only added water throughout the entire grow. It looked like something FDD had done; it was just that good. I went and bought all the stuff necessary to get going on this newest experiment. On about the 17th of October the tiny babies popped thru the soil in their Dixie cups and 10 days later I transplanted them into 3 gal grow bags.

Here is the formula that I am following and his comments; remember, this is his formula and comments - not mine.

1 bag of mriacle grow "Organic Choice" (2 cu ft available at HD)
1 bag of pro mix (2 cu ft available at HD) NOTE: this was not
available in my area so I bought a 2 cu.ft. bag of Fox Farms
"Happy Frog" organic mix. Looks like this stuff would be perfect
"as is" with nothing else added - but I did add the rest.

1 cup blood meal
1 cup bone meal
1/2 cup dolimite lime
10-20% added chunky perlite
3 gallon bags

"They get 7-10 days in the cups for rooting purposes.
I check the ph every 2 weeks by testing run off.
This mix really does work well with plain water.
The plan is to have 20 plants go into flower every
30-35 days and pull 20 every 30-35 days. They will get
anywhere from 60-70 days 12/12 before being chopped.
So the plan is 10 day pre veg in cups, 20 days
veg in the 3 gal bags, and then into flower."

You can't believe the feeling of this soil mix; it's as
light and rich as anything I've ever seen. I knew as I
was mixing it up this was going to be special.

So after 4 days, here are my newest babies. They are overtaking the
Big Bud in size! The first image shows the grow bag. The wrench is
there to hold down the edge of the plastic to keep the light from
burning it.

Looking good mate,i especially think you'll find good results using this method for blueberry as they hate nutes anyway:blsmoke:

I swear you can almost see them growing. One of my big buds in the RW was about dead, definately dying so I pulled it out this morning and transplanted it into one of the bags next to a blueberry. It may be that it just needed some air and that it was drowning; that's my guess anyway. I pulled out the small RW plug and found that there were very few roots that had grown into the 6" cube. We'll see.

It's day 19 since the first seed leaves appeared. The leaves are a deep green and they
appear to be absolutely perfectly healthy. These are happy plants!

Here we go again at 21 days since popping out of the soil. I didn't take a pic of all of them; they all look almost exactly alike - sisters! I am amazed at the simplicity and health of these plants; you water every other day or two, no nutes, no special treatment, just let the babies suck up the nutrients already in the soil. It doesn't get any better than this. I was just comparing these with my big bud in RW and there is NO comparison; the blueberrys are 4-5 times the mass and much healthier at the same age. Besides being better bud I'm expecting a better harvest off these than the big bud. The quarter is just for scale. I'm not sure what the little white spots are; I've looked at them thru a loupe but they don't appear to be threatening. I'll do a search on here and see if I can find anything. If any of you know what the white spots are, please let me know.

Today is day 26 since sprouting. They are looking amazingly healthy. I've been working on a new grow cabinet over the weekend. I've got my blueberry growing with my big bud. Here are the pix:

These babies are really bushing out like crazy. It's day 29 since sprouting and I couldn't ask for healthier plants. I'm amazed at the fertility of this soil mixture. I've got 9 new seedlings coming up out of the Organo pots with more on the way. Check out the internodals!

Another week and nothing much to tell; they are a week older (day 33) and just as beautiful and healthy as ever. One of them is doing it's own LST, laying on the soil. They don't appear to be getting "tall" in any sence of the word, but the stalk is a good 1/4" or more in thickness and the leaves are bigger than the 8 day older Big bud. Very dominant indica traits on these babies. ...not that I wanted them tall but I don't want to be harvesting 4 gram buds either; I want it to be worth my time and money in this project. Here's the pic from this morning:

I wish I had vegged mine to about your size... you are so right though, the stalks are so THICK and these plants look like they can really support some weight all the way around. I am limited to a walk in closet and I leave the door open and put blankets over the windows, My apt is paid for by the company I work with and I would hate to get busted, it would really be a bad situation. SO I couldnt grow mine as big as I'd like just in case something went wrong and I had to stash them in the pantry. Good luck buddy and I'll keep checking for your updates...

yeah those look just like mine did at a month old. Mine looks solid, and sugary, but won't weigh out for shit when it's all said and done. keep them going for another month at least!!!!

how are you finding blueberry with respects to rate of growth and ease of growing?
In a word? sucks! Actually if you just plant them and leave them alone, just water them every other day or so, they would probably do better than if you fuss over them like I do. They are shorter but bushier than the Big Bud I'm also growing and that's a good thing. I just hope I can get enough weed off these plants to make it worthwhile.

It's day 43 since sprouting and exactly a week since going 12/12 under the HPS. That's 36 days of vegging (for my reference). Typical of blueberry, some of them look a little "different". One has mostly 3 leaves - (could that be from the stress?). Overall they are looking 100% better than a week ago when I darn near killed them with the pest spray. I gave them a good watering today with some very light nutes.

This is the little girl that was stunted for a couple of months. Believe it or not, this plant is close to 4 months old - talk about being a late bloomer!! She was in a state of suspended suspension while her grower figured out WTF he was doing. She is the only one of 14 blueberries that survived the Stealth Hydro Bubbleponics fiasco.

I'm not sure if you can see this but I think I see a preflower (as if I actually knew what a preflower looked like).
