hell yea !! its always good to get the troublemakers out of the way so the good plants can fan out and really kick up a fuss :)
bet you see a growth explosion in the near future :)bongsmilie

yeah, woke up this morning and they are still laid out like they are dead...... so I should spritz them w/ a spray bottle?

Also, Id say the tops I cut were about 4-5 inches long and 2-3 nodes worth, was this too big?

for cloning i usually go down as far as i can on the plant and take the freshest growth tips with the biggest leaves that are at least 4mm thick and about 4 to 5 inches long makes for a much better and more established clone
could be you didn't have the growth hormone to put them in either and they locked out on you .. spritzing them helps ALOT and you got to keep the humidity up with a tent/dome too

do u have a dome over them.. humidity is critical for clones, cuz they dont have roots to bring in moisture to the leaves
when i take short clones u cut off all the leaves exept for the top node n put the rest below surface

yeah i got a 72 seed/clone starter dome set but its cheap as hell thogh like a plastic "togo" box should i have the dome lid on?

hey there, im just about to start growing and ive been reading a few forums and seeing different ways of growing. one question i have is, Is tinfoil ok to use? i thought it was but saw someone write not to use it. if not what should i use that cheap and easy? i am going to grow the ganja dwarf lowrider, which is said to be a easy plant to grow. Also i would like to keep the plant on the smaller side because im trying to be discrete, so how far away should the light be? i have a 400 watt HPS HYDROPONICS GROW LIGHT BULB Mogul, but i am just going to grow it in soil. Is that also ok to use since im not doing hydro? Also, once they germinate in the tightly sealed bag with wet paper towel, and i plant them, do i put light and a fan on it right away? if so for how long during the day? i tried to look aorund the forums for these answers but could not get a clear cut answer. thanks so much for your time and info!

Hell yeah. got the questions worked out and I get to grow. Still have to build the grow room and get the strains and everything, but got the "GO" that I have been waiting for! give it a week or so and maybe some pictures of the grow room getting started. wohoo my first ever grow!

sorry green, didn't mean to jack after your post. you are using lowrider for the autoflower or the size? cause the autoflower strains don't taste as good.

no need to appologise, i am mainly using it for the size. im obvioulsy a noob at this. i know the lowrider is a auto flower, but what exactly does that mean? its my first plant so i would just like it to be a success, im not too worried about the quality of the bud yet, soon tho soon

probably wanna get someone more experienced them me on this, im a total noob too. from what I understand an autoflower strain automatically starts flowering on its own and does not need to be switched to 12/12 lighting like most strains. that, and the fact that they generally don't taste good is about all i know on that. If size is the only problem, then do what I am going to do, just use LST (Low Stress Training), when the plant starts getting to tall, GENTLY pull the tall part down and rope it to something, like the pot or a post. then the middle part of the plant starts to grow up, repeat it a couple of times and you have several tops.

Did I get that right? everybody feel free to jump on me if I got it wrong

ill take whatever advice i can get. ive heard about roping them down to control size. but i have already ordered the seeds so once i get my first grow in ill try other strands and take your advice into consideration.

For the more experienced growers, no offence infinite, one question i have is, Is tinfoil ok to use? i thought it was but saw someone write not to use it. if not what should i use that cheap and easy? i am going to grow the ganja dwarf lowrider, which is said to be a easy plant to grow. Tin foil is bad, don't use it, the alternative is mylar and a cheap source is called a space blanket in the sporting goods dept of walmart for a few bucks, that light is fine

as to your other questions, they show that you did not read this thread as the answers to most all questions are here, including specific instruction on the most important things involved in growing

There is a germination tute from UB and before you do ye ol paper towel thing you should read it

I don't want to be seaming like an ass, but I spent a lot of time putting this thread together and have no problem answering questions from folks that read it

What are the temps.. is the dome humid inside?.. describe there living situation
Dont know the temps, my house is at constant 75. And where its at is a couple deg cooler( well a considerable drop in temp) but... the lights make it warmer around the plant.

the starter dome is 72 of those "finger" things with a water pan and a plastic clear lid( I just now put the lid on)

i got all 4 of my cfls on top of the dome( is this too much?)

i didnt use root hormones cause the soil(powder) stuff said it started roots on cuts. I pre waterd(till runnoff) all slots most all of my cut only stick up about an inch from the soil but VERY wide big leaves and stems. Have been watering evry other hour with a spray bottle:weed:

The first 2 I did actualy started to stand up but they were too tall for the lid so i took annother cut from tht cut. I got 22 im trying to start,

HOW LONG does it normaly take to root?
plannig on my own version of SOG

would show pics but batt on camera are dead and i cant find my charger

Ok I guess I should share my way of cloning with everyone, it is ghetto but works very well

Here is what you need, first get your favorite soda in 3 liter bottles, I said fav so you'll drink it but I guess I should also share that the bottles need to be clear (so 7up and mountaindew are no no's) empty em clean em cut the tops off right where they cruve into the bigger body of the bottle, you now have your humidity domes (one for each clone)

now get a simple (not fancy) kitty liter tray (box) and a bag of PLAYGROUND sand go to home depot (or similar store) and tell em you are building a sandbox for your kids it has to be clean sand and play sand is, do not ask if any sand is ok IT'S NOT! IT HAS TO BE CLEAN SAND! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Fill the kitty liter tray with the sand to about an inch from the top needs to be 3 to 4 inches deep pick your tray with this in mind (I have gotten big rubbermaid tubs and cut them to be 6 inches deep they work well just cost more but you can get a bigger tray by doing this)

Now add water ph'd to around 6.5 to 6.8 and fill your sand pit till you see water if you push on the sand IOW just looking at the sand you should NOT see water but if you just push on it with your finger water should well up around your finger. You need to wait till the sand pit is at room temp should be at least 75F, if you don't want to turn your heat up get a temp controled heat mat and put under it. put a thermometer in the sand so you know for sure.

I have found that the best place for it is near a window that gets a lot of indirect sun exposure during the day but flouro lights will work

Cut your clones do the gel/powder thing and poke a hole in the sand (I use a pencil) put the cutting in the sand push sand around the stem and cover with 3 liter bottle

With this method you do not need to mist em the bottle pushes into the sand/water to make a airtight seal and it will naturally be humid inside because of the water in the tray and the temp. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to get roots but you can pull em out to check em and simply put em back after looking the sand is loose so no problem. You also have to check the water level and add water as needed (do the finger push thing)

I started using this method years ago to clone trees to make a wind break in my yard (after checking price at nursery) and it was 100% successful, I saved a lot of money getting my trees :bigjoint:

wow i don't clone ANYTHING like that but i went out after reading this and got the stuff to try it .. if i can get 100% success rate this way will make it a hell of alot easier when i go to start a new batch :)
i hate having to fuck around with peat plugs :joint:

so i have been doing alot of reading and i still have not found a few answers to my questions. after i place my germinated seed in the soil and water it, do i start to put light on it or do i wait till i see a spout? also when i first should i be using fert? or just plain water till i start to see some growth? thanks for all your help, happy growing!!!!

do the clones need to be rooted before I put them in 12/12?
yup you gotta veg them at least till they have enough roots to support the plants photosynthetic needs .. i personally like to wait till i have a nicely established plant about a foot high then for their good work so far i give them a good re-potting into a 5 gallon bucket and trip to the flowering room (usually about 2-3 weeks after sprouting)
