Hi guys, I'm a first time grower (blueberry skunk)and just signed up to this forum (best one online). I started from seeds straight from amsterdam and am now at week 3 (21 days) and the plant is looking amazing.Am using 2 CFL lamps(6500k) for one plant,and have another CFL lamp (2600K) ready for when i switch to 12/12.I should have bought lowrider as i'm looking for quick results but went for the quality and have to be patient now. I live in a country where it's really hard to fine good stuff so i'm out right now...and waiting.
anyways,2 questions:

1.i'm in week 3 of veg stage, and have already leafs coming out with 7 fingers.height is about 10". will post pics later, but the question is can i start flowering from now already,and espcially if i do will it affect my yield?approx how much pounds/grams will i get if i do?

2. i'm on 24h of light, if i do start on 12/12, should i make the transition to darkness slowly (meaning start with 2h of dark and progress to 12) or can i just start on 12/12 like that?

the size of the plant will def affect your yield, but if your gonna stay with CFL's now is a good time to flip as you will get better quality with a smaller plant using cfl's

and you can just flip em to 12/12 no need for gradual, the plant will adjust itself

Absolutely, and actually you can flower any time you want

IT is quite fun to make your seasons change in the grow room, but totally irrelevant and useless lol. And everyone else said whay I would about 12/12, whenever u think they are ready 3-5 weeks after beginnning of life they will bud.

YA its long enough but flowering is gonna be like 2-3 months so. What do u mean ur in dire need?

depends on the strain anywhere from 8 to 14 weeks

You dont want to harvest before they are ready and it depends on the strain. 6 weeks is the earliest I have ever seen and those buds werent even quite ready.

Facts I will give you:

1 - 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 6 Air and light tight (cabinet inside a closet)
2 - 400w MH (ballast remote)
3 - 50 CFM ceiling mounted fan exhausting to outer room.
4 - 12 fully germinated seeds planted.

What are the problems you see with this set up?

you need to be able to usher air in and out of the room somehow so air tight is bad. Also thats too much light for seedlings, consider using lesser wattage or a cfl setup for babies. You should never ever plant more than one plant in the same pot as well. You should raise the MH bulb or ur gonna burn them.

Thats 1 major problem and one future major problem.
If we do not control the heat we will have 2 planters with 12 fried seedlings.
After 3 days I installed a peice of glass between the plants and light, pulling cool air from the bottom and out the top into the next room. This brought the temps at 2" above the surface from upper 80's to around 85.

Have an exahust fan venting to the next room and intacke holes in the raised floor.

I've had sucess growing small clone started late with more then one in a pot. But never seedlings and they were in 5 gllon buckets.
Your containers are def. to small for so mnay plants.
they will still probly grow and produce . Just not so well.

small clones also do well in a topsy turvy tomato planter with tomotes in it also.
All my experience is outdoors. just moved in doors.

Looks like you have a perfect setup for a scrog. When you get your temp. problems fixed.
maybe 4 plants veged a little longer each in their own pot.

I'm no expert by no means. Thats what i would do witn that space.

or maybe a sog. But both of these methods make use of clones. Not saying the seedlings wouldn't work jjust not preferred by serious scroggers.

Actually what I would do in that space is to grow autos because thats what I have done.
My space is about the same size but not that tall.
Went with autos for a perpetiual grow. because i'm a heavy smoker and the old lady is too.

Sure you could just take them in after 12 hours of light outside. One problem might be bringin pests back into your indoor grow.
You can also cover plants with black plastic after 12 hours. I,ve used this method to force plants early.

EVERYDAY. That starts to suck after a while
