Light is takin in by the foilage( a little by the stem) this is the beggining of the photosynthesis process....until it breaks the ground light is not neccesarythey don't need light untill the break ground.
As long as you keep them warm and moist...they'll do just fine without light...they don't need light untill the break ground.
