I honestly wish it was legal to own a gun here in Brazil!
But unfortunately it is not, every single fucking day I hear stories here about people being assalted on the street by some fucking bum with a knife or whatever other type of weapon, man it fucks me off. I'm probably quite lucky I haven't been mugged yet, because I really don't know what I would do, every inch of my body would tell me to smack the guy in the face and run!
But I know logically that that would probably get me killed, if I could legally carry a gun, I would have no worries in the world. I'm not saying it's a good thing to be able to, or even worse NEED to have a gun, but when you gotta deal with fucked up crackheads that will kill you for 10 bucks, then fuck that, I will shoot that fuck in the head any day. Seriously, about 2 or 3 days ago, a guy I study with told me about a mate of his:
He was getting some cash out (a couple hundred bucks) and started walking back to his car, where he was stopped by two fuck knuckles, they told him to get into his car, once he stepped into his car they pulled a gun on him and asked for his credit card and PIN, once he gave that to them, one dude got out and went to the machine and took out 1500 bucks, they then told him to drive to his house, once there they called some mates up and told them to go to the same address, they took absolutely everything! Cleaned him out totally, then they took him across the city to another cash machine, zeroed his cred card, then dumped him out in the middle of nowhere, without any id, money or any of his necessary documents. And they took off with his car.
I mean, what the fuck! Although having a gun in this case maybe wouldn't have helped, maybe it would have (it totally depends on the person) but shit, I can see which is worst. And these fucks will never be found. If he had shot them, well, they would deffinately not have been missed.
Maybe in America there are rules which a relatively abided by (I'm guessing I don't know how it is there) but here, rules don't exist. And when you are mugged like that, what do you do?! Shoot the fuckers, or let them take away a huge part of your life like these assholes did??!! And I can promise you, they would not be missed if they died, not at all!

The problem with the liberation of something as powerful as a gun, is that many people have no idea how to be descrete and in control, you can only teach so much awareness, the majority is in the owners head, and as we all know, humans can be fairly temperametal
