Raspberry Cough and Afgan Kush grow.

I use a tower fan that oscillates to move air around in my flower room but don't have space for one in the veg room. I was leaving the door open a bit and sticking a small oscillating fan in the doorway but now that I've got some bud curing in the top portion I just keep the door closed with no fan. I was leaving the lights literaly right on top of the plants since they run soo cool but it was definitely making them stay super short and compact. Just in the 24 hrs that I had them raised up to about 3-4" above the plants I could see very noticeable differences in all of the plants so I think I learned my lesson there. I always kept my CFLs in the 3-6" range depending on what size they were and where they were placed. The T5 lights just run soo cool that I figured, why not leave them right on top of them for the most concentrated light? I guess I know why now, lol.

Being the impatient bastard that I am, I put 6 of the 8 plants in the flower room today. I did this to make room for a couple autos in a DWC setup and because I really want to grow some other strains too that I have seeds for.

I may keep one Afgan Kush plant vegging to use as a mother for a run of clones, not sure yet. The other Afgan Kush will go in within the next week or so, however long it takes for it to get to an acceptable size. I germinated the 2 autos I have and put them in rockwool cubes today and stuck them in the DWC. I also germinated 3 other seeds that will be ready to plant tomorrow (White Widow, Sour Cream and Critical +).

The White Widow is to be a mother for a round or two of clones and the other two will go 12/12 from seed. I've never done 12/12 from seed and wanted to check it out so I figured I'd use the two seeds I know the least about.

The bud porn is my Sour Grapes which is 6 1/2 weeks as of yesterday.

I feel the same way great minds think alike.I was thinking of doing 12/12 from seed myself with the critical+ but i can stick it in with the veg plants for a couple weeks then go to flower it.I also want to hear how the sour cream smokes because i have 3 of them and i would keep it for a mother if its good.

hey dez howz it going??? i see you got critical + is it dinafem?? if so youre on track its a balance of quality & yield 'nuff said there thats the 576 c.i. rectangular head big-block of plants & definatly on my hit -list along with blue hash but lets get something clear im not a pro-grower but i can tell you only whats worked for me i only do e&f it has been good to me & ive done my best when i grow one strain at a time currently im developing a whitewidow big bud cross to replace [unless slh yields good] super lemon haze im now growing youre doing good & you'll get it worked out ive learned everything the hard way & still have a ways to go i really appreciate you dropping in on my grow & keep watching its all starting to come together & my yield is gonna tell it all & i think the weak link is gonna be my strain choice i firmly believe strain is 75% of success secrets

It is Dinafem Critical +

I also prefer e&f but was trying to get a couple mother plants so I put them in soil. When I get some clones going I'll be putting them in rockwool and then in the e&f. I'm still trying different strains to decide whic one or two will my strain(s) of choice. Then I'll be growing only those one or two for a while.

Once the one Afgan Kush plant gets big enough to take cuttings from, I'll do a round of that from clones. I may do half Afgan and half White Widow depending on how fast the WW grows.

I don't know much about the Critical + which is why I planned on just letting it go 12/12 from seed to try it out. If it's as good as you say I'll get a few more seeds of it and do a round of it down the road.

The autos that i put in the DWC are popping up today so I need to start thinking about lighting for them. They're under one of the t5HO lights right now but it's got 6500K bulbs in it. I know I'll need to switch spectrums at some point, not sure when, so I need to decide if I'm going to buy some t5HO bulbs in the 2700-3000K range for it or use CFLs that I already have or use the 150HPS that I've got.

I don't really want to spend any more money right now so I don't think I'll be buying new bulbs for the t5. Most likely end up running CFLs over them since the 150 puts out more heat than the two 68W 2700K CFLs I have wothout a big difference in Lumens. I have a bunch of 23W and 26W CFLs too in the different spectrums so maybe I'll bust out my DIY fixture and run the 2 68W cFLs in it with a few 26W CFLs hanging around the outside from clamplights or something.

Thanks, I can't wait either. It's going to be the biggest harvest I've had to date since I've been doing perpetual up to now. I'm pretty excited about how it's all come together all of a sudden.

In just the 24 hours they had been in the flower room when I checked on them yesterday, there was very noticeable growth on the RC plants. The Afgan didn't look very different.

I'll wait until it's been closer to a week before posting new pics of them to show progress.

i would run the t5 for a week then switch to the 150 hps. i personally dont like MH cuz they dont put out as many lumens as HPS and they dont last as long either. HPS will have them lovin you.

hey dez i just popped in to say hi & check out your thread a wee bit dinafem has a real good reputation & critical+ i think is one of their newer strains where production meets quality im definatly interested as im trying to pick up my yield without sacraficing quality im somewhat uf a strain junkie at heart always looking at something serious seeds white russian is on my hit list too & then theres the abundance of clones near me sac./bay area...decisions-decisions..........

@ bigcheese- cool, Im actually only about 25-30 min from Dland so we have passes and take the kids quite a bit.

@ herk- gotya, I'm debating now on doing the critical 12/12 from seed or not. Don't want to feel like I wasted a good seed, you know?
