I think everyone needs to think deeply on this. Can't most of you see how our rights are contracting instead of expanding? McPurple talks about being worried that he won't get his medicine if he is a felon, and that might be the first step, along with under 18 years of age. Next will be plant limits, and therefore, the amounts you get for free from your growers.

Yes, dispensaries got voted down, but I think all of us need to unite to EXPAND our rights. That means fighting to have a legal way to procure medicine, so new patients do not have to go without, just because they do not have anyone they can trust to grow it for them. They, at that point, have to trust a stranger on life saving medicine.

If they start shutting these places down, go and protest if you are a medical patient. As long as we do not cause trouble, that is within our rights. We have to make our voice heard. We cannot allow the fear of the ignorant to predict where we are going as a group of patients. We have a prescription. Most people PAY for prescriptions, because they cannot make it themselves. Same should be for marijuana. If you cannot grow it yourself, then you might have to pay for a prescription.

I foresee a life like this. Cannabis is legal for all. We have a huge new industry and new, good paying jobs. We have less people in prison for drugs, more money for schools. For people that need it medically at that point, they will get a medical card that either gets them a huge discount on marijuana, or they get it for free. That program could be paid for by the taxes from dispensaries and producers.

Folks like McPurple may be ok with them trying to limit our access to medicine, but I am not. I am tired of the double standard that we have all chuckled about for years! We have a new industry available, and jobs available, and THE IGNORANT will not allow us to do this, and help America out in the process. Supply and Demand, folks. Capitalism at its best.

Stand in line together. Tell your friends and family about how you use the medicine, and how others can benefit from it. Fight the misinformation!

Sorry for the rant, but I am tired of feeling scared about all this. If we see a shop shutting down, post that shit. I will go down there and protest.

Sounds like you do not need a call to arms...haha. You sound like you have already been doing this. I am just saying most people can do more, myself included. My post said it earlier, tell everyone you can, and stand up for any co-op getting raided.

I think we both want the same thing, maybe you are one doing something about it already.

This is not about starting arguments, it is about creating unity. We are all patients, we all want meds for one reason or another. Strength in numbers.

count me in, i would gladly defend my right to garden, and anyone else. im just asking how can i help???? i guess we could start a petition for canabliss and with the correct number of support im sure shutting it down would be harder then the ones down south, but i would assume the signatures would only count if it was someone living with ???mutlnanomah???? county. i trully cant think of anything else, but me and a few close freinds are woriking hard as HELL to get a club or dispensary opened up down in Eugene but the legalities are a rough sea, and im hoping they get calmed.

Haha, what a coincidence. I am working at one that is opening up in the Portland Area. And, yes, some pretty hard to navigate what is legally considered a donation. Lots of debate out there. I just think these places HAVE to be here, because I have helped many people with free meds, and more and more are having trouble getting a good grower, and I cannot take on any more patients, except emergency freebies to folks in need. I just wish more people knew how many GOOD people are out there, and we just need to have some way to be compensated for time and expenses, because I have a lot of work to do to provide my patients with what they need. And I take a lot of pride in providing the best possible medicine, and always pushing myself to be a better grower.

We need to get an action group going, one that can react quickly to these shutdowns. That way we can get large groups of informed people picketing, etc to raise awareness. I would also like to get all of this on video and post it for more awareness. If we had a group of about 1000 patients that were well organized and informed, we could get to locations, and make it a priority, IF this all gets worse.

My question to all that oppose dispensaries is this........how exactly is it going to harm your life if you are not a patient? Prescription drugs are much more dangerous, and yet we do not fear them. In fact, America is hooked on Prescription drugs, that may be a reason they want to keep this naturally occurring plant out of the public's hands. We might not have to spend so much money with their precious drug companies. Oh, and to get a prescription, you have to make a doctors appointment also, so more money out of the public's pocket, and more expense for health insurance companies, which mean higher rates........it goes on and on.

i dont want it to be hard for patients to get meds, i dont want any one busted. i just want the medical marijauna community to stop doing illegal actions cuz that is why they are cracking down again, and making new laws cuz growers, patients, and care givers abuse it to make money. all i want is for illegal stuff to stop so we can have simple laws that are not fucked up.

It seems to me there is a chance that the Oregon model of small producers being able to supply dispensaries might be the safest. So far most of what I've heard is that they've been going after industrial grows...which is what the Haag memo says as well.

but a co-op ran dispensary wouldnt be able to STEAL meds from growers (paying cheaply or not at all) AND ROB patients of money (I.E. CALI MEDS CLINICS CHARGING UPWARDS OF 50 DOLLARS AN 8TH FOR "LEGAL" MEDS) a true "farmers market" is much more oregon and is something i would be willing to defend. a "company" ran dispensary can suck my choad, and i alsmot gaurantee that thats the only way it will ever be "legal" in oregon cause it will be easy to tax and control which is why i dont like them. im not a dog, why do i have to wear your leash??????? and besides i dont WANT TO BE A SAMLL PRODUCER!!!!!!!!!! if camel can grow cancer in the entire bottom half of goergia why cant we cover the vally in some green?????? i want to work on a farm with ACRES of green WITH CROPS OF WIDOW!!!!! and fields of ak!!!!!! a forest of god bud!!!!!! why why why why cant i???????? cause it will ruin the earth???? pullote the sky???? kill the children????? OR SAVE THE CHEERLEADER!!!!!!!

Your model will create the least amount of good paying jobs. If you have a lot of small producers, that will spread the wealth. If you allow a couple HUGE producers, your opportunities in the medical marijuana world will soon be that of the migrant workers. Just food for thought.

Everyone needs to allow themselves to see this. A ton of small producers, all making 100K a year is freaking awesome! 3 HUGE producers will make 50 million a year, and pay the trimmers and bud experts 7-15 dollars an hour. And take all the rest for themselves.

I would rather have 200 small producers, all making good money. But that is just me, I am fine with sharing the wealth.

im just saying as a "small producer" i shouldnt be limited to any number of plants. what other agricultural item is controlled like that???? you can only plant 150 potatoes, and 3 and a half peanuts????? if i own 40 acres then i should legally be able to grow on 39 of them. i bought the land, pay my taxes, and am not a felon, so why shouldnt i be able to do what any free man should, whatever the hell i wanted. and im not saying that it should be ran by huge companies but let me ask you something as a fellow Oregonian, ever heard of a farmers market?????? marijuna is WAY to easy to grow for it ever to be controlled by a few large monopolies (ever wonder why its illegal???) so im sure if it was as legal as chocolate, then you would have some MASS producers but im quite sure the real fire would still be grown on a personal gardeners level and distributed locally. i very much agree with spreading the wealth, but when you think about HOW MUCH WEALTH there is in this, im sure its gonna get clumped in the corners somehow anyway. uncle sam wont say yes until he knows hes getting the biggest piece of pie. but all that aside, what can we do about our rights??? i emailed the Governor Mr. Kitzhaber and protested my love/need of places like cannabliss and i havent even been there so i think i have done something positive for you guys (i hope). i didnt know what else to say other then the jobs places like that make and the needs they fill. god bless Oregon.

I guess my idea is about sharing the wealth. First of all, as a commodity, the more weed produced out there, the LOWER the price will be for all producers. So, you may fight to get rich, I will fight to make a good living. Everyone seems to think the "American Dream" is to get rich if you can.

I agree, it is hard to limit growers. But here is the problem with your idea......you will eventually be priced out of the market by "THE WALMARTS OF WEED". Just like mom and pop grocery stores and convenience stores used to mostly be individually owned. These days they are all owned by corporations, for the most part.

Here is what will happen...you will buy your farm with 40 acres, and have some success at first, because that is a nice small farm. About 5 years later, the walmarts will be taking over, and dropping their prices to nothing, because they know they are the only one with margins large enough to absorb such small prices.

The reason they are able to offer it at such low prices is that they keep cutting the farm worker's wages. They will price every small farmer out, or make you work for less for them.....Don't you ever think about this???? And if you think I am wrong, just look at American business. No more mom and pop shops, with the owners making 100k a year. Now they work customer service for 9 bucks an hour and some crappy health plan.

All I am saying is that once you open it up to UNLIMITED farms, then you are going to lose out, unless you want to SELL OUT.

No offense, but I think people need to be realistic about how this really will go down.

glad to hear that someone actually went down to this place rather than ranting about it being a sting, we need more places like this (community based) and a free market kinda thing....would hate to see MJ go main stream and become a walmart type business....
