Looking good so far Flo, I just recently myself am trying some DWC (cheddarwurst in vegg). I may not say something all the time but I am watching and learning things here and there from this.
I think I ran into your grow at breedbay, I am Rustyjay over there.

I went in to exchange the frozen bottles since I didn't do it last night.
Added more plain water to each cooler (damn near a gallon each).
Well something told me to measure their height bcuz they were looking about 8 inches tall.
And man, was I right ! lol
So I threw my SCROG netting in the tent.

LET THE FUN BEGIN !!!
Veg Day 24
PPM = 575
PH = 5.8
Temps = 68F
Ambient Temps = 78F - 83F lights off/on (Both 400w HPS AND CFL's on 12hrs and 20hrs, respectively)

Due to the angle of the pic, it's misleading but the coolers are approx 12.5 inches tall, and 14.5 inches tall with the 2 inch thick lid.
Then another 8 inches to the bottom of the net.
SCROG is an excellent way to maximize yield, like a regular large gallon tree grow, in a height restricted place.
Of course, the yield is SO good, I know plenty ppl that have no height restrictions yet they still SCROG. lol
VERY worth looking into.
Bottom line is, unless you/we/I have the head and side room to do "tree" grows, some kind of training needs to be implemented to reap the same yield, or better really.
You will look in threads and see ppl not training, getting 3ft - 5ft trees and still pulling less dry yield than I do incorporating some kind of training, all which is to open the plants canopy to more light penetration so the middle and lower bud sites actually produce.
Very little goes to waste in a SCROG.
A woman, with smaller hands and arms normally, can REALLY kill a SCROG grow since they don't need the netting as high in order to reach under while training so in essence they can get even more bud sites in the netting if it's 6 inches above the pots versus 8 - 10 inches for the average guy.
Everything that doesn't make to the netting gets the chop after the stretch is over in bloom.
All those would be smaller nugs and branches turn into nice, fat colas all over the netting.
Look up ScottyBalls and his waterfarm.
I don't think he pulls less than 10oz+ with a one plant SCROG.
And good yielding strains, like C99 or Big Bud or Northern Lights, etc. also helps.

Lol that's what I'm afraid of. I DONT want trees! He better train the shit out of them if we don't go scrog. I'll have to check out Scottyballs. And I'm always looking for a good yielding high THC strain.

I have to agree with flo. Whether or not your height restricted or not scrogging is simple and painless. Just leave the net in place and let grow and trim. Where as lst and such you have to spend time tying and staking down your plants.

I'm in the middle of flower with my first scrog and the second right behind. Before this I just topped and let the plant grow. This particular indica stays short and likes to bush out so it has been liking the scrog enviroment much more. Still isn't going to be a spectacular harvest just because this strain doesn't seem to be a big yielder. It'll be twice if three time mores than my last harvests easy I can see already.

I feel you Evo.
My DPD doesn't look like it will make it to the screen by the time I switch to bloom.
