He isn't talking about SELLING oil, he is talking about who will go into Libya to take over the PRODUCTION of the oil. One is exclusive from the other. I never said contracts to sell oil, I said contracts- contracts to run and own and build oil wells and production facilities and to build infistructure and influence government and controll the finances.

The oil market is so fluid they just export to italy because it's convienient, the oil is on the open market, it doesn't matter where they sell it, it is supply and demand, it is only if embargos keep them from selling it or in case of war when their is a disruption of free market that where they export their oil matters.
Now any supply or shortage just affects world supply, it is not like italy can not get oil else where or that italy is their only buyer.
What matters is what they trade the oil for and who controlls the production.

I was talking about how the conflict with the U.S. and Europe and the sanctions and Gaddafi's desire to move away from dollar based assets was causing Lybia to align more closely with Chineese and Russian governments and corperations and working with them to develop and exploit Lybias resources, Now it will be U.S. and European interests controlling the country, and it's development and exploitation of it's people and resources.
