Maybe I missed it somewhere in the thread but I was wondering if you could explain your intake/exhaust for airflow in and out of the box.

Heyyyy guys!! Lovin' the new setup! I see HID is definitely workin for ya ;) I'm so glad!! Your LSD/POG are reverting nicely....give them a couple more weeks, and they're be ready to clone again :)....mine are a little farther along, (my lsd has now got reg lookin leaves again....however, one cool thing is, notice how they come back one leafed like that...they do that because I'm told when it's dominate indica, it'll do that one leaf thing....)....coolness eh!? Keep it up guys! I think ur gonna be really happy with what comes from that 600.....super red spectrum on those babies :)
That's an interesting comment. Please explain 'that one leaf thing' with a photo if you can.

thanks.

I had a mentor that grew an old school blueberry strain outta Oregon....and from time to time, he would revert some of his plants back from flowering....he would tell me when they showed "one leaf" when reverting, that it meant that it was better quality indica genetics

I have the mazar dominate pheno of the LSD....mazar being 100% indica.....this would explain possibly why these clones look this way when being reverted

versus something like my Jack Herer, sativa dominate, that looks completely different at the same exact age of being reverted backwards

I love this forum...learning something new every day!

Here is my understanding on the single blade reveg plant.

As the plant grows and matures throughout veg it will increase the amount of blades on each fan leaf. When you switch the lights the lights to 12/12, the new growth starts to lose blades per fan leaf. Looking at a bud, notice it is single leaves that poke out between the bud....the leaves you trim while doing manicure.

When you take a clone that is in bud, depending how far into bud it was....it can have just one leaf blades.

When you harvest and re-veg your plant, as it matures, the new growth will have an increasing amount of blades per leaf. When it reaches 5 blades per fan leaf of new growth, the plant is re-vegged long enough to re-flower.

They usually stick to odd numbers and the numbers increase as the plant matures through veg and decrease as it matures through bloom. The leaves usually don't get more than 13 blades.

What I didn't know was that it's prevalent with Indica....I have had an example where the leaves went down to a three count on buds, but have had the single blade showing also.

Single blade re-veg

Single blade on bud

Three blade leaf in bud. Still, at the very tips it goes down to one blade

Thanks so much for the explanation on indica being more likely to do the single leaf deal....I never knew that!

Intriguing. Thank you.

Maybe I missed it somewhere in the thread but I was wondering if you could explain your intake/exhaust for airflow in and out of the box.
I'm currently using the in-line fan that was venting the other box, which is why I'm not taking full advantage of the space in the alcove, need somewhere for equipment & wires to hang out. The intake is some large holes cut out with a hole-saw and then an attic vent cover to block the light that may make it down there. Though, light is such a non-issue. That corner of the room is dark, even more so with the lower height in the space and the former flower-cab (now veg) where it is.

Allright, now. On to business. Just a small update tonight, I was super busy last weekend and I'm still recovering from it. Been napping and falling asleep at odd times. Need to get more rest.

Everything in the flower box is great. Just finished up week 4. All the girls in flower (besides critical plus) have now received their last dose of grow, and it's on to full flower. To celebrate the occasion, they also got a full dose of koolbloom. I halved it last week as not to shock them too much. There was a little nute burn on the lower leaves throughout the week, but nothing too serious.
So, for anyone wondering, my current flower recipe is as follows: BC Boost, X-nutrients Bloom, X-nutrients Grow (though, this was the last week for that), Magi-cal, Sugar Daddy, B-1 red, Koolbloom, and Molasses. I just ran out of Sugar daddy, but I'm not too concerned. The X-nutrients grow & bloom have a similar ingredient that substitutes it.

I also added a 300 watt CFL. And yes. I know, I didn't neeeeed it. To be honest, I only added it because of where the light is situated (a little to the right) and the fact that I have a critical + with a single top on the left. The lower parts of it could use a little love. It's only a measly 4200 lumens compared to the 95000 HPS.

Everything is starting to smell nice. Many familiar scents, like the Afghooey garbage can smell, plus the new diesel/orange from the Orange Bud and the fantastic blueberry smell from Purple #1.

So, on to the eye candy.

Here's some Brainy -

And some Afghooey -

I'm going to try to take the time to get some new profile shots, and some better detail shots of all the plants. It's so hard to capture them without flooding you guys with pics >.<

Maybe a youtube video is in order.

Hey, looking great. And as an impartial observer, I have to say that this shot is already looking much more serious than the buds in Narnia 1. You have the powerful branch thickening and the squat dense stacking of colas that you just weren't getting before with the cfl's alone. And look at your leaves. Magnificent. Only hid can produce leaves that perfect and proud... Not to toot my own horn, but that shot actually reminds me of one of my grows.

And please also note how erect your upper leaves are. See how they're pointing up like my Diabs did? This is an indication of a plant in overdrive... again, the energy they're getting from the hid as well as your rich feeding method. Finally a light to maximize your feeding.

Yeah, definite difference in the size of the buds and how vigorous the plants are. Brains Escape buds are about the size that they were when we harvested, and we're only about halfway in for her, the Afghooey cola's are just incredible, and yeah, definite stem thickening. It's definitely a completely different grow. We also refrained from trimming leaves, so the "solar panels" are working hard to make shit happen. We thought that by removing them last time we were doing the plant a favor, but it seems that we only slowed it down.

Trial and error. That's how most of us learn, right?

That and by example.

I'm glad that the feeding hasn't burned the girls yet, though I'm sure that me typing in this statement is going to be what makes them burn ;)

I was going to do a pre-flush before I fed them this last time, but I forgot about it. They should be ok until next week. I dump a half gallon of water into each plant every 36ish hours, hopefully that'll be enough to ensure their safety.

And yeah, I thought the same thing with that picture. After I uploaded it, I realized how much it looked like one of your photos. That tells me that we're doing something right :)

Your girls are less likely to nute burn with that light also because they're getting exposed to more energy to convert.

Bad news, faithful followers, I was going to give the girls a sip tonight, and I found Purple #1 covered in bananas.

Pulled her, chopped her, then took some of those male flowers and spot pollinated Brains Escape, Afghooey, and NYCD. I know that passing on these hermaphroditic genetics will lead to problems in the future, but I'm the adventurous type ;)

Here's hoping for no more issues!

They sure are looking nice. It's all that attention to their every whim :-)

Did you have just the one Purple #1 in the batch? Probably in her genetics, unless you think you stressed her somehow? Bummer is, all the clones from her will likely do the same....

I really have to worry about morphs now considering I am going perpetual. A late morph and I used to let it go, no harm (can't do that anymore) ....but an early morph...what was Purple, 5 weeks? Bad news in any garden. Hope you get some good material for hash from her.

I was thinking it might be nice to make some oil out of her. Not really enough to do hash. Or at least, not a very big batch. I wasn't too pleased when I saw her. I started pulling, but look at the pic attached. That was the pile of flowers from the entire plant. Way more then i could handle pulling in the hour before lights out, not to mention that I'd have to keep an eye on her, and it's just not worth 7 more weeks of searching and pulling. No thanks.

I'm thinking of throwing out the one purple#1 clone that did take. I don't want to deal with that shit. Maybe if it was at 10 weeks, or 9, I might have let it slide. But not at 5.

The part that bugs snickerdoodle the most is that she was just starting to really go purple. You can see it on some of the male flowers.

:(

My sympathies....but it does look like you got them early...still pretty green. I know it's a hard decision to give up on a plant, but like you say.....don't want to deal with them. I am afraid the ones I have have already gotten the bad news :fire: they are in a "happier" place now. Is their a Rainbow Bridge for plants?

Alright, sorry for taking so long with posting. We've been passing around sickness, so energy levels have been low. I haven't let that stop me from taking care of the girls, though. Learned our lesson in regards to neglect a few times. I plan on doing my best not to let it happen again.

So, to recap. Had to pull purple #1 last week, which made more space in the flower box. We're in the middle of week 5 for everyone except for Critical + which is at 3 weeks.

No individual shots this week, but a few bud shots ;)

You can't see it, but Afghooey-A is in the far left corner. The giant CFL is blocing the view

Here's a shot of the top cola, as of Saturday night

Here's one from earlier today

Here's a shot from today of the canopy. Notice how Afghooey A is taller then everyone else

Not sure if you can see it, but we did suffer from some burning as I predicted, but it was for a completely different reason then I thought (and really, Orange Bud was the only one affected). It turns out that when I dosed with Koolbloom, I added 1 teaspoon, rather then the 1/4 teaspoon.

Oops.

That might also have something to do with Purple #1 going hermaphroditic.

This was remedied with a flush friday morning and a regular fert saturday morning.

And for those flowering clones LSD and POG -

All in all, things are looking good.

Oh, almost forgot about this one

NYCD -
