Despite not having any light traps over my fans, my girls in the flowering container are now budding up! As long as no light is directly entering through the fans to shine directly on the plants, you should be good. But yeah Cab... There is a reason most people do not grow in Rubbermaid Containers hahaha.

Once my fan arrives in a few days ill set up the second tub and see how the temps are. If they continue to be high ill invest in a cab

hell yea man, i shall follow urs for comparison as well, but at least u have room for 2 so u shuld def have at least one female. i only have room for one, (so im praying for a female) if i get a couple more bulbs i may try and add another but not sure yet

Yea and i have room to grow (literally... pun slightly intended) with the addition of a second tub on top. Like i mentioned already though, i am really leaning towards purchasing a cabinet. I know it's real early to tell but from what i've heard, a really bushy plant that doesn't stretch much is a slight sign of a fem, and that's exactly what my big one looks like now ^_^. keeping my fingers crossed.... really want to see what bud it was i was smoking on that gave me seeds and the only way to tell that is grow it haha.
Edit: also, my temps were back up to 86 when i got back from class so i took out one bulb (the center one in the strip array - the one that was by itself pointing down) to hopefully help a bit with the heat issue.... these bins are really starting to piss me off.

7 total, was 8. Still leaves the plants completely covered with light with ~100 watts within 6 inches of each one.
(2-30w 2700k, 2-26w 6500k, 2-23w 6500k, 1-26w 2700k)
Will take pics after i water. The leaves are curling at the edges, thats the right time to water them, correct? (soil is dry for about 1/2" into the soil, then damp)

Hehe, ya, i guess it was a little overboard. I was happy the few days it was 80 or below but now its just not cutting it. The closet itself isn't the best as its on the second floor and its got an outside facing wall with no ac directly blowing in it. I imagine thats probably why its so hot in there... the ambient temps are probably rarely below 80 inside the closet (even with lights off). Just one more reason for me to get a cabinet.... Anyway, here's some pics of the new light set up and the plants right before i watered them (ill try and snag some pics in a few minutes to get some post watering comparison shots).
Pics: Lights on, lights off, view from top intake. Largest to smallest plants showing the leaf curling. If you're wondering what happened to the second plant (the notch that is missing off the fan leaf) it was a mishap from moving around the lights/plants. The leaf got caught inbetween my hand and the pot during rotation and just ripped right off =/ (one more reason for me wanting a cab - more room).

Also, does anyone know if you are supposed to have bigger intake or outtake? right now i have more outtake with 3-5inch holes/fans and two 4 inch intake holes and 2 smaller, 1 inch intake holes.

ya i just meant the ratio. i know more of both is going to be better just want to know which should be bigger. Anyone else got any ideas on this?

you do not want positive pressure inside the grow like that if its pretty sealed. you want more exhaust than intake.

That's what i thought. I have a bigger exhaust (240 cfm pc fan) on its way and that should help with the problem. thanks for the info.
Edit: While the babies are asleep, i will smoke.

I like the zip ties, I have a very similar setup in a tent and my sockets have me nervous. How do u tie up the light that isn't on a Y? I can't tell from these shots, but +rep!

the one that's sideways and not slanted? or the one that's pointing down?
the sideways one is a clip on light (like this with the reflector removed: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bayco-10.5-Brooder-Clamp-Light/14003468). the one pointing down was just plugged in but it was pretty sturdy, however, it has since been removed because it wasn't that close to the plants so i took it out to help with heat.
temp was back to 79 about 20 minutes after the lights came back on. let's see how this goes...

First things first, I don't know how much longer I'm gonna stick to a rubbermaid setup. It was nice at first, but it really isn't as stealthy as I'd like and the ventilation issues just make it not worth it. I'd rather just set up my closet as it's almost as obvious... but instead I'll probably end up purchasing a little cabinet or armoire. Much more planning will be done and it will be able to freely stand in my room and no one will notice (hopefully). But for the time being, i've modified my intake a bit, take a peek.
Anyway, the plants are doing great despite dealing with daily spikes anywhere from 74 to 90.
It's now been 48 hours since I fim'ed my second plant, and it's just now starting to grow out of the fim site. I can't tell if I did it right yet, but the rest of the leaves are starting to show awesome growth. You be the judge...
And it's now been about 18 hours from starting the lst on my lil bush and its almost back to a vertical position. As soon as i get one more leaf set of the second (fim'ed) plant I'm gonna start it's training.
And for the third, smallest plant, I'm starting to debate whether I should start training it the opposite direction of the second or remove it altogether... I hate to destroy the plant with the chance its still a fem but the second plant is just showing such awesome growth id hate to see it come in the way... need advice here please.

First 3 show first plant (first one to start training) and the bud sites that are starting to appear from beneath the brush. I started pinning down some of the larger leaves today.
Fourth pic is of the other two plants prior to training. The fim'ed plant is really starting to look nice. I think it produced a few new bud sites so i think it was a success. You can see at least 4 bud sites as opposed to one on the smaller one.
Next four pics is of the other two pics after being pinned down. Again, notice the new bud sites on the second plant.
Final pic is of the updated late setup (note the 42 w i put in ^_^)
Also, i purchased a small cabinet today. Gonna wait till it's all ready to go before i post pics of it. Hopefully I can get it ready to go for flowering time in about 2 weeks or so... for now the plants train... and train some more.

So i got tired of the rubbermaid, bought a cab, got my fan, and here's where i'm at now. Just a few small things to do and it'll be all set. But for now, it's at least functioning. All i need to do is work on the light proofing as well as add a lock. I do have to say though, this fan is a beast. A pc fan is a LARGE understatement. It's built like a tank. Never underestimate a pc fan that's rated at 240 cfm. I did however have to place an oscillating fan in front of it just to somehow mask/disguise the sound of the fan. I believe it will get better once i get a vent/carbon filter over it but for now, it will work.
As for the plants, they are starting to really benefit from the training. Lots of bushy bud sites are starting to appear. I'm thinking about setting it into flowering in about a week after I get my light proofing issues settled.
As for this thread, I will probably make a new one tomorrow seeing as it's no longer a "rubbermaid" grow. Expect a link soon...flowering in about a week.
