257,000 is .078% of the population, not "plenty" at all. You know the stat they don't give? The one that shows How many people donated last time that aren't donating now. That number is probably greater than 257,000.
Just barely must be right, haven't heard you say much about Obama, But for RP you got lots to say about turtles and loser comments. Are you sure you aren't mainly just ridiculing others choice while mostly keeping quiet about your own selection?

The entire population doesn't even vote, so why go out of your way to trivialize the numbers like that? The Obama campaign is breaking all kinds of campaign records this year, I dont see how you can ignore that.
Tell me, how many people generally donate to political campaigns? We already know the Obama campaign is expected to raise as much as $1 Billion which itself is a campaign finance record... If you're so sure 257k new donors with nearly a million total donors so far isn't impressive, you shouldn't have a hard time finding candidates in the past who've garnered significantly more support?

Campaign contributions are not limited to voters only. My friend in Houston is not allowed to vote yet he gave the maximum amount to Dr Paul in '08 and will do the same in 2012. THAT is impressive.
All right, fine then. your 287,654 people is ACTUALLY .21% of the total number of people who voted in the 2008 election. .21% is small. There, trivialized.
You ask how many people donate to political campaigns. But did you mean people, or corporations and giant banking conglomerates? While Obama peddles his influence in trade for cash donations, Ron Paul actually sets an example for the righteous by not accepting corrupting "gifts" from the influence purchasers.

They would never give true number's,but I have a great idea about the system because I am in small town where more people are on welfair then work. People that work have crappy car's and there kids get hand me downs while people that get funds for nothing drive nice new car's and all there kids have 100 pairs of shoes,and nice outfit's.

No kidding. I see plenty of people on welfare and most of them don't even have cars. People keep generalizing and spouting shit that they've heard. It's like the whisper game. The more it gets told, the more outlandish it gets. Just like the GOP candidates swearing that 50% of America doesn't pay taxes.

I have seen first hand. Girl on welfair with 3kids goes to school for free to become Rn. We paid for it. She gets off welfair and has great job, for 3 months then say's one day working sucks and she could make more money by staying home and having more babies,so she got her tube's untied and has more kids. She drives a new van, kids have the best clothes and she all ways has money and its not from working. Somany of them like that in the town where I live and they will tell you to your face that they get more money for the more kids they have.

Anecdotal evidence is fun, here let me try...
My parents were never together and I lived with my mom(till HS, thenI went to live w/ my dad). She got assistance from the government, claiming two children. We were so poor that I remember after we went and spent all the food stamps stocking up on food that we would have to hit up food drives for food boxes as well... We were so poor, that there was always at least one utility late - so late that there was always a shut off notice. As for clothes and a car? My mom drove an early 90's nissan sentra with no insurance, I remember the tires were so bald at one point that we actually got a bubble in the front right and it pushed the car up as she tried to get us home. I remember being so poor that I didn't even have 5 pairs of socks to my name, and those "pairs" were actually just random socks that had fewer holes and stains than whatever else was floating around... I remember one Christmas we got a tree, but my mom couldn't afford to put presents under it...
I could go on and on, but I wont.
