I'm certainly no arachnid expert, the only webs I have ever seen that large were in Florida. And the spiders would sit dead center and were HUGE. Much larger than a widow, tarantula sized but sort of a mottled black and brown color. I think they were banana spiders. It is most assuredly NOT a brown recluse nor a black widow. Widows make cob webs in holes, slots, under ledges, always near a close by hiding area (close like a few inches) - they don't spin circular webs out in the open.
Ugly black widow web -
MedicalMaryJane - Does it come out during the day? It might not be sitting in the middle of its web, but is it visible on a leaf or stem where the web attaches? In the picture it looked as if it was reweaving its web which is a nightly task for most diurnally hunting orb weavers (by hunt I mean sit and ambush).
To me it looks like a crab spider. I can't find a good match on the web (uuhhh... ) but they weave orbs and can look spectacular creepy. They're harmless though.i still worry it is poisonous. it looks like a BRoWN widow. i did some more looking and that's the closest looking spider. i need to get a better pic so you experts can ID.
...check under your pillow, and behind the door.i don't know why i kept reading about spiders when i hate the MFers now i'm gonna have nightmares
Lol.... I had a pet spider on the porch at the house I called him mr clip... Roach. Cliphe's not crabby!! he's got a big body and a tiny pin head lol. i will try to take a pic again tonight but i can't get close and the flash sucks. gosh i am stoned. someone inn a van almost drove into the web today and i was very concered for grafton. he lives here too... hopefully he does't bite someone lol
done it before. brown recluse fuck thatthere is a huge spider in a huge web outside of my place. I have seen it a few times but it doesn't live in the web, it lives in the tree. It goes into the web to eat. would you kill it if you had the opportunity?
this is its web. i can never get a pic of the spider bc he hides. i am pretty sure it's a black widow. the thought of it living out there makes me uneasy...

dude you have no idea *shudders*...check under your pillow, and behind the door.
LMAO...thats what i do with moths....throw another spider in the web, thats always a disaster for one unlucky critter.
He (probably a she)'ll likely rebuild in the same spot if it's decent. Then I do hope you'll keep us posted! cnthe gardners seem to have broken grafton's web. what will happen to him? will he rebuild or will he take ofF?
