Reveg vs starting from seed

Hi Dozer! So glad you made this thread since I am currently revegging a couple of sativas outdoors. They didn't finish the first time as well as I would have liked. They were in the 12th week of flowering, but still needed more time for the buds to completely mature. When I could see that they were revegging, I harvested most of the buds and they are revegging pretty well after a week. I think that they are going to be monsters. I have the tallest one, that was originally the main cola strapped down and each individual bud is becoming a separate branch! The other branches from which the larger buds were removed are growing much slower, but they are definitely showing new growth. My plants from seed are doing great also, but I think from now on, I will definitely reveg my spring crop.
Be careul not to overfeed the first few weeks. They don't need much water either! Good Luck!

A new pic of my reveg in the flower room. Shut off hps for a bit. Still a shitty pic but, you can see how big she's become. Trimmed lower third after this pic was taken. Sorry about pic quality but, it shows what reveg can do! She's over 5 ft tall and 5ft wide.

Thats sweet Dozer. Revegged plants are cool. Well done, looks healthy and happy.
You may want to try monster cropping next. Thats taking clones from a plant 3 weeks are so into 12/12 and beginning to flower. Can be a challenge to get them too root but worth the effort.

Just did it. Took about 20 clones to try and get going. Thanks for the compliment. They are all still nice and green no yellowing of leaves at all. Mainly due to your great advice over the winter on my last grow. Keep em green!

Thanks man. I think root trimming is the way to go on a reveg. New soil etc..

Want to play fair so, here's a couple of the start from seed outdoors. They are doing well despite 2 weeks of rain. Still aren't nearly as big as reveg. I topped these a couple times.

A pic of some clones I pulled off my best PK plant. Vegging 4 weeks now. They are in 5gl buckets for now. Straight super soil. Haven't had to feed them yet. Brewing up a nice wc/ guano tea for them. A few are staying in for next grow. A few out also.

Week 6 in flower. Little rusty spots on the leaves but, all is well. 3 weeks to go. Giving 1 more tea tomorrow and cutting back on nutes. This is my smallest out of 4. The rest are too fat to fit out of the room! Thanks to all who helped thus far. Dozer

Dozer looking really good! Aint growing fun? YEP!:bigjoint: I would say the outdoor plants didnt minded the 2 weeks of rain at all. Looks like the reveg is going to treat you right. You mentioned rusty spots. Heres my take. Its an opportunity to read all the plants you have growing, both in and out. Your outdoor plants fans have nice color and are presenting pretty flat and proud. The reveg looks to be a bit darker green. Green is certainly good. But like all good things there is a limit. Also they are looking a bit droopy. Maybe the 'claw' getting ready to pounce or water stress? I am thinking maybe a bit of both. Just keep doing what your doing and tune along the way. I read above where you said to Shrig rooting pruning is the way too go when revegging. You could not be more correct. Fresh starts deserve fresh roots.
You have payed attention to the things that really matter and cautiously ignored a lot of myth and hype. From here on out in my opinion you just dont grow. You cultivate...........makes me smile Pal!!!!!!!!

Hey man thanks for the good input and compliment. Kind of overwhelming at times trying to grow 4 big plants in a 5x7 room! My big girl in the 15gl bucket dries up every other day. Average 2.5 gls per watering. Had some rusty leaves 2 weeks into flower so started hitting them with a tsp of cal mag every other watering. Not sure if it helped or hurt. Guy at my local hydro store says most folks in my area need to feed lot's of cal mag. Still stumped. Well is 400 ft deep and I have lime in my own super soil along with a tsp of epsom salts per gl of soil. Lot's of worm castings too. I know we went over this last winter but, once again still stuck. Haven't had ppm of water tested yet still waiting for a freebie test around here. Water looks great and taste even better. Not far from Poland Springs.

Quick update on a couple ladies outside. We had severe thunderstorms and some crazy wind but, they made it through. Both are the start from seed purple kush. First pic the plant is starting to flower already. Think she's big enough so should get a decent harvest. Mid August it should be ready. Have a buddy coming over later with a good camera so i'll take some pics of reveg in the flower room.

7 weeks tomorrow since switch to 12/12. Had to tie a few up. Buds are starting to put on some weight now.1 more full strength feed then cutting back. Bought an a/c heat problems over now. Just dealing with high humidity now. Have it down to 45%. New plants in veg room doing well. Clones in cups all starting to go now too!

looking good man, i have a reveg going outside now. hope there is enough daylight left to get it done the ole natural way
Thanks man. I have 2 going outside also. One is doing well the other not so much. The storm we got a few days ago raised hell with a few of my girls. Even knocked down a couple panels on my stockade fence. Reveg inside almost there. Starting to look good and smell even better. Have flower room vented outside. My backyard stinks like a family of skunks. Haven't been striper fishing yet. All this rain isn't helping the stripers either. Still would like to get together and give it a try.

More the better. I know a great spot in Saco to get monsters once the rain stops screwing up the Saco River. 40in plus stripers. Catch em' on live eels no weights. Just wind them upsteam in the current and hang on. Lost a big one last July. That's the best month to fish it.
