so let me get this straight .... they say Dr Kamermans signed 5,000 MMAR forms but they are charging
him with only 3 counts of fraud and 5 counts of forged documents. sounds like they went fishing forsure.

it took 65000 doctors roughly 12 years to sign roughly 10000 people, Dr K signed probably as much if not more, imagine the cost of his actions to the tax payers, it is probably in excess of 8 digits.
He used to sign on average of 800 mmar forms from tuesday to thursday> and that for like years

How would it cost tax payers? The reason most doctors charge for this service is because their time spent signing the mmar and other mmar related visits are not covered by Health Canada, so they are receiving NO government finding for your visits relating to MMAR, I don't see any problem with a Doctor charging money for something like this, for the simple reason he's not getting paid elsewhere to do his JOB, which MANY purely government paid Doctors fail to do on a daily basis. Not to mention, compared to some of the other Doctors who have taken this method of payment, he charged a reasonable fee, $400 for skype session, $250 for in person session, and $250 renewal every year thereafter, for something that treats MANY conditions, now, if you consider a pill pushing doctor, who gets paid by the govt. for each of your visits, and then also get kickbacks for each pill they prescribe, I PROMISE you that a doctor with patients who have any condition otherwise treated with cannabis that push pills, are earning more than $400 a year from each patient from both govt. visit kickback, AND the pill prescription Kickback.

So who's more in the wrong here, someone who charges less than you would otherwise spend on prescription meds per year, who in turn gives you the ability to grow your own medicine, thus reducing costs even further. or the doctor who says "No, I won't sign, but here, take these pills that have KNOWN side effects and have caused death on at least 1 occasion".

Who's worse here? The man who doesn't effect Tax Payers dollars AT ALL? Or the man who earns tax payers dollars, and refuses to listen to the tax payers themselves by consistently refusing MMAR applications and instead trying to push pills.

You don't understand the importance of this man, without this man, hundreds if not thousand of both terminally ill, and life long conditions would not have been able to GET into this program, MOST doctors across the country will NOT prescribe cannabis as a medication, even more so in provinces where the health board sent out letters to doctors stating the ridicule they would receive for signing one.

AND lets not forget that it's not this man that fucked up the system, the system has been fucked up since day 1, with patients constantly fighting it because of how immoral and unconstitutional it is, the program is fucked up because the program is fucked up, and the "Fuel" they used to light their precious political fire was the fact that PATIENTS and DESIGNATED GROWERS were growing, and selling cannabis under the protection of the MMAR program, as it seriously limited the potential times in which a bust could even occur.

There have been news stories about this very subject where one individual who has his card, put together a crew of I believe 12 people, who also obtained their cards, and they grow and sell for profit under the protection of the MMAR program, ALL 12 individuals do this, and this one man admitted it on camera, his face left shaded and name anonymous of course, but yeah...

This Doctor had nothing to do with the downfall of this program, and as a matter of fact, only got swept up in this big fiasco when that news story was being done. And he simply made the mistake of doing business with a Lawyer who charges people obscene amounts of money to "Assist" patients in obtaining their MMAR by having available doctors to sign.

I believe this is where any fraudulent or shady business was being done, and I would also wager that this doctor wasn't even aware of these incidents. There's a reason this Lawyer is still walking, and this fine doctor is being charged. Have you never heard of a "Patsy"?

And this is exactly my point, they attacked a man based on a news story, and ended up charging him with a minor amount (Compared to the amount of forms signed) of offences, it just seems to me like a big fishing expo, take out the guy who has helped thousands of people speak their voice...

It is possible he made a mistake, but how many doctors and other medical professionals make mistakes which KILL people everyday in this country, as well as many others?
Wouldn't these mistakes be a better use of police and government focus? Hell, most of the fatal mistakes made by the health care professionals aren't even mentioned in any newspaper, anywhere.

Read this and you'll see the possible scenario, so it's unwise to jump the gun on who's "Guilty" here.

In addition to that, how do we KNOW he was the one that forged the documents, they could have been received by him already forged. You don't know exactly what happened, so why drag someone who's helped thousands farther in the dirt by making these accusation.

65000 doctors did NOt sign the 10,000 MMAR docs before Dr Kamermans did.
the problem with the system is that there are a handful of doctors that signed so
when we hear how many Dr K signed i'm not surprised. he was the most compassionate of them all.

Dr K did not sign MMAR for years but only 1.5 years total. and it is irelavant how many he did sign.

taxpayer costs, you are kidding, for a few pieces of paper and return postage !

the problem here is that he signed the form which under Health Canada is what he was supposed to do.
however are they making him responsible for some bad egg MMAR holders breaking the law?
problem is HC has no inspectors to even check what is happenning in the field and are fast to blame the doctor.

wow how many overdoses on painkillers and such happen daily.
are those doctors responsible for that?

They are certainly capable of breaking the law, the only problem is, when most do it, it causes serious problems to the patient, and is why they have that thing called malpractice insurance, and receive NO jail time for their crimes, which are FAR greater than the crimes of this man. You simply don't understand the struggle involved with obtaining a MMAR authorization, or you wouldn't be so quick to judge.

if he got scammed he would have the paperwork to prove it,because the only way to scam would be to forge specialist reports that were given to him and they are extremely easily traced back..
